Two Hands, an Aussie-inspired NYC creation, has announced plans to expand to Austin. Taking hints from the inventive culinary scene and laid-back culture of Australia, the cafe will serve as a space for all to relax and enjoy simple, nutritious dishes paired with heavenly coffee drinks. And although a location and opening date have yet to be shared, we promise to follow up with more details as we discover them!

2nd St. is getting another new lunch spot this summer! Houston-based favorite Local Foods is expanding to Austin, and we couldn’t be more excited. The counter-service restaurant plans to partner with nearby farms to feature a menu full of colorful salads, mouth-watering sandwiches, and tempting desserts — all made with local, seasonal ingredients. Did we mention they’ll have a patio?
Rosedale is growing, and we’re here for it. The booming neighborhood is already home to a handful of trendy spots with healthy, mouth-watering menus. Next on the list? A second location of Honest Mary's, an ATX original offering grain bowls and better-for-you sweets crafted with responsibly-sourced ingredients. Stay tuned for the Burnet Rd. cafe’s official opening date, and in the meantime, visit them at the Arboretum!

If you’re a frequent visitor of Austin farmers markets, you’ll be delighted to hear this news. The makers of pop culture macarons, OMG Squee, have opened a storefront location! Famous for their gluten-free goodies like jiggly cheesecake and Taiyaki, the bakery has found their permanent home on Bolm Rd. They’ll be sharing a space with Old Rail Coffee Shop and slingin’ sweets all weekend long. Follow them for updates on new hours and menu items.
We’ll just get straight to the good news: one of our fave mobile eateries, The Vegan Nom, is opening an all-vegan food truck park called The Outpost Food Park. The open-air destination is situated on East 7th St. (between Kammock and Revival Coffee) and will be home to Austin’s first kombucha bar, Bruja’s Brew Kombucha, along with Sassy’s Vegetarian Soul Food and The Vegan Nom’s second location.

That’s right — their fifth Austin-area studio is debuting in December 2019 right off Aldrich St. If you haven’t heard of Restore, they offer more than just cryotherapy, you can expect a range of other services, including IV drips, compression therapy, and assisted stretching. Our plans? Put a dent in our holiday stress with frequent sessions in their infrared sauna.
Looking for a place to throw some weight around? You’re in luck — Liberation Barbell Club is opening to members in December (their public open house is set for January 18, 2020) and they’re coming in swinging... with brand new kettlebells! Aside from the just-out-of-the-box equipment you’ll get to break in, the Southeast Austin gym will feature a garage-style space, plus strength training, powerlifting, and more. No need to feel intimidated, either, as everyone who walks through their door can expect an inviting, no-judgement atmosphere.
