Add to that, our lovely city is practically overflowing with options and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. We’ve totally been there, so we did all the hard work for you and put together this tried-and-true list of all the best places in Austin to unroll your mat.
This is all hot yoga, all the time. If you’re ready to intensify your practice to a steamy 105°, this is the place. Pure Yoga Texas has four locations throughout the city offering 90-minute classes for all levels. Targeting self-control, concentration, patience, and determination in addition to a full-body workout, the signature Hot Yoga class is a sublime challenge for your body and your brain. They also offer a one-hour condensed version of their original hot sequence, along with Pilates, Yin yoga, and two-hour advanced yoga classes.

Not only that, they have a stacked schedule of classes, offering a wide range of weekly practices all day, every day. Head on over and restore your body and mind in everything from warm (we’re talkin’ 85°) candlelit classes to fast-paced Vinyasa flows. While PYA is a great studio for just about anyone, budget-minded yogis will find it especially welcoming.
This studio gets their name by being an affiliate of the amazing music and mindfulness festival, Wanderlust. (If you’re not familiar, it’s seriously worth checking out.) Downtown and Domain studio classes are often accompanied by live music and range from hot to flow to restorative, so there’s something for everyone. But their ever-popular Yoga Basics class is great for newbies looking to dip their toe in the yogi pond. Fitt Tip: the downtown studio shares a space with Blenders & Bowls, so get yourself some tasty acai after your workout.
For a downtown studio where everyone knows your name, BFREE has you covered. With a strong community vibe and a unique take on classes, BFREE is where you can make new friends and experiment with your practice. Traditional folks will still find plenty of standard flows like Vinyasa and Ashtanga. But if you’re looking to change things up, their BRocked—Vinyasa Flow to classic rock—will get your body movin’ and groovin’ to a different beat.
Some like it hot. And those yogis head to Modo Yoga. The heated rooms in this North Austin studio use a special radiant heat that feels like sunlight instead of hot air. But if you’re not a Bikram fan, don’t fret — they have unheated classes as well. Add to that, their Energy Exchange program lets you volunteer one two-hour shift a week in exchange for free classes. Or, work on your own karma at their Karma Sessions where your pay goes straight to an Austin charity. That’s some real donation-based flow.
With three locations (Anderson, Cedar Park, and Westgate), Flow Yoga really flexes on the convenience factor. While they may be one of the largest studios in Austin, everything here speaks to the welcoming nature of their yoga family. No matter if you’re an expectant mother, a senior, or a novice, they have a class to really expand your horizons, and we really mean expand — there are nearly 700 options a month to choose from.
Baptiste Power Yoga (formerly Bodhi Yoga) digs deep to create an open and welcoming yoga space in the Lakeway area. They specialize in Heated Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow, and Yin classes as well as yoga for kids — Zen Bug Yoga. Their claim to fame, though, comes from being one of the few studios in the city to use infrared heat in their hot yoga classes. Whichever class you choose, you’ll find they excel in creating a safe space for students of every walk of life to heal, grow, and feel connected to their community.
This one goes out to anybody who’s ever been in a practice and thought, “This is too easy”. Since 2006, Breath & Body Yoga has been challenging yogis in Tarrytown with their focus on Power Vinyasa and their own unique alignment system. Which means when you're taking their Hips + Hammies or Foundations classes, you can expect your breath to be heavy, your lunges to be deep, and every muscle in your body to be on fire — in a good way. Fitt Tip: they also offer private stand-up paddleboard yoga classes for special events and groups.
In the heart of Lakeway, this studio is the best of the west. Owners Erin and Jeff Rix are passionate about making yoga accessible to all levels, welcoming beginners to experts. They offer everything from heated Vinyasa classes like their Kick A$$ flow class to non-heated Yin classes that are perfect for runners and bikers. Or, opt for peace of mind with a Movement & Meditation class. Best of all, the eco-friendly bamboo floors and huge windows provide lovely nature views, making a flow on your mat feel like a day at the spa.
This Manor Rd. studio guarantees a fun, challenging, and potentially eye-opening workout for both your body and your heart. It’s yoga through the lens of Buddhism where you’ll explore self-discovery while releasing past blockages and self-limiting beliefs. But don’t worry — anyone and everyone is welcome to partake! Show up for an hour of great music, good vibes, and guidance from some of the very best yoga and meditation teachers in Texas.
The founders of Wild Heart Yoga wanted a studio where they could run free and be wild. Cue the nature and the trickling water sounds! At this West Austin studio, yogis can practice inside or outside — it’s practically a mini retreat. The tree-lined deck has an added benefit, too. At night, beginners and advanced yogis alike can really get their Om on underneath the moon and stars. Plus, newcomers get 10 days for $10. Now that’s wild.
This aptly-named studio (it means “hope” in Arabic) brings its yoga practice to an idyllic grove of oak trees in South Austin. Offering small Vinyasa, Kundalini, and Hatha Yoga classes in an intimate setting, this studio is an awesome place for one-on-one training. But what really makes this space special is they do double-duty in helping the Amaya Foundation. Every donation-based class benefits Amaya’s mission to help at-risk youth learn mindfulness and emotional learning.
Whether you live North, South, East or downtown, Black Swan Yoga has a studio near you. But beyond being super convenient, all of their locations offer donation-based classes with an upbeat soundtrack. You’ll be movin’ and flowin’ to the poses in no time. What’s more, instructors are encouraged to express themselves in their practice, which means no class is the same! Their Power Yoga sessions are a community favorite, but you’ll want to have a bit of beginner experience under your belt before you check ‘em out.
Walk into Sukha Southside, and you’ll immediately feel more zen. It’s all thanks to the skilled teachers and restorative yoga flows. Trust us — their classes fill you up with so many feel-good vibes you could practically float home. And now, they’re offering the same blissful experiences at their Eastside location. Among the two studios, this yoga haven offers over 85 classes each week, including Kundalini and meditation sessions to help you relax, build strength, and as they say, “be here now”.
