Remember the days when you sat around the locker room with your buds after practice and then took the hangout to the table for a team dinner? Well, what if we told you it was possible to get the same experience (you know, camaraderie, high-fives, and feel-good teammate vibes) without the high school drama?
Well, you’re in luck, because that’s exactly what sphere offers. And now, Austinites will be able to see for themselves what the hype is all about.
Former MLS defender Michael Chabala launched sphere in Houston in 2015. Since then, it’s grown to include six soccer-focused class offerings including POWA (a 30-minute HIIT workout) and SPHERE, their signature class that’s a non-stop, soccer-inspired workout for newbies and pros alike. Every class features a touch of Chabala because they’re based on his experiences and the way the sphere (soccer, that is) shaped his life.
So you don’t have to be the best on the pitch—or have ever even thrown on a kit (that’s soccer speak for jersey)—to join the roster. You just have to want to be part of a community that’s changing the fitness game.

There’s no brick-and-mortar studio in Austin just yet, but you can keep the ball rolling with weekly pickup games at Auditorium Shores and Zilker Park.
The only rules are come as you are and bring a lot of energy. So lace up, join the team, and do something great for your sole.
