Calling all gogis! As if Austin didn’t have enough to gloat about, the popular GOGA pop-up is opening one of the first permanent goat yoga facilities in the nation. YOGA & GOGA’s brick-and-mortar studio is officially welcoming yogis and gogis at Hill Country Galleria as of October 30, 2018.
What started out as a fundraising event for Hurricane Harvey victims quickly turned into a well-loved and highly demanded part of the local yoga scene. Founders Rachel Phillips and Trey Easter love the way the adorable baby goats make yoga less intimidating for beginners and remind experienced yogis to have a laugh.
If you always kick yourself for missing the latest pop-up event at Lamar Union — don’t goat crazy. YOGA & GOGA promises to let you kick it with baby goats on and off the mat two weekends each month at the new 3,700-square-foot Bee Cave studio.
While the goats are on break, the studio will offer an extensive schedule of goatless Vinyasa yoga classes daily. Their 45-minute Flow class is offered in the mornings and evenings on most weekdays. Beginner classes are also offered weekly and cover the foundations of yoga to help newcomers ease into the Flow class. Stay tuned as they plan to add additional times and types throughout November and December.
If you’re a GOGA-believer, you can look into the unlimited goat (or goat-free) yoga sessions for $120 per month. Or, if you’re still on the fence, try out a few drop-ins — which is also perfect for the out-of-towner, so bring your friends.
The new studio opened at 12700 Hill Country Blvd., Suite S-115. There, get ready to roll out your GOGA mats more often, joined by all the coolest kids (aka baby goats).
