City living is great, but sometimes, you just need to press pause and step away from the daily grind, if only for a few minutes.
Enter: Kala Mobile Meditation Studio, a roaming relaxation station that’s spreading the zen all over Baltimore.
Mother-daughter duo Tina and Maria Stratakis found inspiration for Kala from their life coaching and mental health backgrounds, as well as their shared passion to improve Baltimore’s health and wellness scene. So, in June 2019, they introduced the city to their newly-launched concept and began providing stressed-out locals with a place to soothe their mind and body.
The mindfulness machine boasts eight private pods with various soundtracks for quick and effective 15-minute sessions. Take a comfortable seat, slip on your headphones, and select a carefully-curated mediation that best suits your needs and schedule. The best part? Each meditation was created in collaboration with local wellness professionals right here in Baltimore.
Jason Williams, Martha Rogers, Radha, and Elyza Dolby bring you guided, semi-guided, or unguided meditations to help reset, relax, and sharpen your mind, while the accompanying soundscapes by Ty Ford infuse the room with cleansing energy. Trust us — this added dose of tranquility will be just what you need before you head back to the hustle and bustle.
Can’t wait to track down and try out this wellness bus for yourself? (We don’t blame you.) Luckily, Kala comes directly to you and your business for corporate wellness initiatives, special and private events, and other collaborative efforts. Simply reach out to the team to request more deets, or check the online schedule to see when it’ll be in your area.
In the meantime, peep Kala’s Instagram to keep up with the studio as it moves about the city. You definitely can’t risk missing the next meditation pop-up!
