It’s hard to argue with the benefits of making a mindfulness practice part of your everyday life. But we get that meditation pillows, incense, and journaling aren’t for everyone.
For those who find solace in sweat, Wanderlust 108 and their signature, revolutionary “Mindful Triathlon” is the ultimate mind-body experience. And in August, it's coming back to Boston — only this year, you've two opportunities to get in on the action!
If you’re not familiar with Wanderlust 108, then prepare yourself for an incredible experience you won’t soon forget. This global movement combines a 5k run/walk, yoga class, and meditation session, along with other wellness activities and offerings meant to help soothe your mind, body, and soul.
Your day starts early at 7:30am at DCR Hatch Memorial Shell, where you’ll check in, claim a spot, and maybe have some coffee before joining up with Wanderlust’s run leader at the 5k starting line. And hey, if running isn’t your thing, feel free to walk, skip, cartwheel, or crawl your way to the end. This isn’t about beating the competition or hitting your PR — it’s about having fun with like-minded folks.
Once you’ve warmed up your muscles, you’ll keep things moving with a 75-minute, DJ-fueled yoga session that’ll be equal parts empowering flow and dance party. By now you’re sweating, your heart’s pumping, and you’re smiling from ear to ear. So, there’s no better time to slow things down with a relaxing and restorative guided meditation session — you’ll soak up the sunshine and just breathe for the next 30 minutes.
The day isn’t over just yet, though. Stick around after to refuel at the Kula Market and check out other activities and offerings like aerial yoga and essential oil workshops.
Say you love the idea of Wanderlust 108. Maybe you’ve already done one and found it life-changing — it’s certainly possible. An experience like this can really creep into your brain and convince you that all days should be filled with friends, laughter, good music, and avocado-filled Wanderbowls (the quintessential festival food). Well, chase that dream!
Every new adventure in life needs a jumping off point, and this one starts with tickets for the 108 taking over Boston. So, make sure you secure yours for Saturday, August 17 or Sunday, August 18 before it’s too late — it’s past time you’ve found your true north.
