This second Jugos (called Supremo) is a bigger space—if you’ve seen the original location, you'll know it's pretty snug—complete with a seating area and a full menu of jugos (juices), acai bowls, pitaya bowls, oat bowls, hummus plates, toast, and the list continues. Visit either for an incredible healthy brunch, or pop by for a quick snack and coffee.

This Boston hot spot (formerly known as "Dig Inn") has quickly become one of the city’s favorite go-tos for good-for-you eats. With multiple locations in the area (plus a Cambridge location coming in 2020), a healthy meal is never far away. And Dig mindfully sources their ingredients from local farmers, so you always know you’re eating the best. Choose from a menu specifically crafted to blend flavors and spices perfectly, or you can make your own bowl. Need a rec? You can’t go wrong with the Charred Chicken Marketbowl with lemon, fennel, and mustard seeds.

The name says it all. This Boston food lab is bringing customers new food to test out every day that’s plant-based, kosher, and so damn good. When you eat at Clover Food Lab, you become part of the entrepreneurial team setting out to make the world a better place through increased consumption of veggies (and reduced consumption of meat). Born out of a converted shipping container in Seaport, The Farmacy Cafe wants food to be the only healing you need. Superfood smoothies with CBD? Absolutely. Uncompromising dedication to New England-sourced ingredients? Just look at the menu. From their avocado toast to brown rice bowls to salads to shakes and smoothies made with grass-fed whey protein, everything is designed to treat your body right. Now, you can find The Farmacy in Newton and The High Street Place food hall opening in 2020.

Taking plant-based meals to a whole new level is what True Bistro in Somerville does best. Inspired by cuisines from all around the world, their dinner menu starts off with exotic salads featuring the likes of French lentils, maple-pepper pecans, and fresh fruit. Add to that some super-satisfying small plates, perfect for when you just need a little something. Feeling a bit hungrier? Check out their large plates. They’re designed to share, but no one is judging if you don’t considering there's an all-vegan Thai Massaman curry on the menu.

How do you elevate the counter-service restaurant? Install a chef in every kitchen. But Tender Greens didn't stop there. Though they're largely a West Coast chain, an experience in Chestnut Hill or Copley Place would have you believe that Tender Greens was Boston born and bred. It's the food but it's also the attitude — you can dig into the #1 best-selling Backyard Steak Plate (at $14, why would you get anything else?), but you can also trust that the hands that prepared it are uncompromising in the ingredients used and exuberant about the craft of cooking. Keto fans will think they have died and gone to low-carb heaven with this protein-powered menu. This French- and Italian-inspired concept by Barbara Lynch offers everything from unique cheeses to fresh vegetables to succulent cuts right from the butcher’s block. Stay for some bites, or stay for a meal. Either way, you won’t go home hungry from this South End eatery.

Shy Bird serves up rotisserie chicken from its open kitchen and quick-service counter on the corner of Kendall Square, and as soon as you get a whiff of their roasted-to-perfection specialty, your mouth will be watering and your stomach will be grumbling. But they go way beyond the bird, with a selection of rotisserie meats and veggies (yes, even cauliflower), plus a fan-favorite snap pea salad. Take it to go or grab a seat and stay — they’re churning all day long alongside a full-service bar with amazing coffee, wine, and cocktails.

Just outside of Harvard Square in Cambridge sits Forage, an upscale-ish spot that manages to make you feel right at home. And aside from the elevated ambiance, this popular restaurant focuses on local, seasonal ingredients and follows through on that commitment by partnering with farmers, fishermen, and foragers right here in the Boston area. The menu changes depending on what they can get their hands on, which means you could stop by multiple times a month and never see the same thing twice.

That’s right — this is a whole cafe dedicated to serving oatmeal. No, it’s not too good to be true. Check out this Somerville eatery for all the oatmeal you could possibly imagine. There are sweet bowls, savory bowls, and custom options, too. You can add on an egg or tofu scramble for a little extra protein, and you can also top off any bowl with an array of fruits, nuts, and seeds. It's breakfast or lunch done right.

With three locations in the Boston area, Whole Heart Provisions is spreading the veggie love all over our city, and they’re a reason they’re a local favorite. They start with the freshest ingredients they can find, then infuse their dishes with globally-inspired flavors and flair (hello, bulgogi-style beets and Korean black beans) that keeps folks coming back for more.
