If the idea of sweating by yourself keeps your rear end on the couch, you’re going to want to pay close attention here. Because while you’re hiding under the blankets, there are a few hundred people outside getting fit and having a blast doing it at 6:30am, year-round.
Say hello to the November Project.
November Project Boston
What began in Boston when two friends pledged to workout every day in November, has grown into grassroots fitness phenomenon. Now there are November Project chapters in more than 30 cities around the world.
If you’re looking to get in on the action in Boston, you can count on three workouts each week. These workouts are designed, coached, and documented (smile for the camera!) by three co-leaders, Chris Capozzi, Chris Payne, and Emily Saul.
The local chapter of the November Project meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:30am all year long. Yes, including the winter. This group prides itself in being weatherproof, so come ready in the proper workout attire because the workouts will never be canceled.
When you roll up on Monday, prepare for a bodyweight workout circuit workout that’s short, efficient, and usually finishes around 7:00am. The location varies from week to week and participants are encouraged to make running to and from the site part of the workout.
On Wednesday early birds can hit the stairs running at 5:30am. That’s because two groups meet at Harvard Stadium to run the stairs for about 45 minutes. If you can’t make the 5:30am group, be there for round two at 6:30am.
Finish the week off on Friday with hill repeats at Summit Avenue in Brookline. Prepare yourself for hill sprints on the front and back side of the hill, combined with some added fun, like burpees, along the way.
What are you waiting for? No sign ups, no fees – all you have to do is head to the next November Project sweat session for one heck of a workout.
But whatever you do, don’t bail on your tribe. Otherwise, you can expect some publish shaming on the We Missed You wall.
