After a long week of getting up early for work, it’s easy to keep hitting snooze on the weekends.
But knowing that you’ve got a fun workout in store can make tossing the covers aside a lot easier. That’s where Barre. Yoga. Juice. comes in.
If you’re anything like us, we had you at barre. Combine that with yoga and juice and you’ve got three of our favorite things all in one Union Square Somerville event. You’ve probably been to the hip neighborhood for the killer farmers market or to treat yo’ self with a Union Square Donut. And if not, now’s the perfect time to check it out.
Barre. Yoga. Juice. is a special event led by two certified instructors from local yoga joint Exhale who will guide you through a 90-minute workout that’s sure to keep you on your toes.
First up, you’ll sweat it out with 45 minutes of mat-based barre taught by Heather Majewski, a Boston-based barre instructor. Heather’s workouts help you strengthen and tone through barre’s small movements – without the actual barre – all you need is a mat!
After your muscles have had enough, you’ll relax and restore in a 45-minute yoga classes led by Aileen Axtmayer, a Boston-based yoga instructor (the best kind of yoga instructor). The all-levels practice will provide a nice counter-stretch to the barre workout, so you leave the class feeling refreshed and ready for the rest of the day.
You’re sure to work up an appetite after all that moving around. So as a fun bonus, The Juice Union, a popular local spot, will be on hand serving up free samples of their vegan concoctions. And if you’re looking to really refuel, you can purchase a full-size portion of one of their juices to take with you. Sounds like a sweet little Saturday to us!
Hopefully by now we’ve convinced you that getting up and at it on a Saturday for Barre. Yoga. Juice. will be well worth it. It is. And it’s all going down on November 5 at the Warehouse XI in Union Square in Somerville. Plus, it’ll only set you back only $30 (a terrific deal in Boston for two fitness classes and free juice). See you on the mat!
We’ll keep you up to date on all things health, fitness and local food in Boston.
