It may seem like we were just shoveling snow, but it’s already feeling like summer. It couldn’t come sooner too because each year, at this very time, we feel ready to take on the world. Well, at least Boston. We gotta get out. We gotta move!
So, naturally, we were stoked to see that Seaport Sweat, a free series of exercise classes, is back for the third year. With more than 150 ways to workout, it looks better than ever.
Just a few years ago, the Seaport was a quiet little neighborhood on Boston’s waterfront. Now, it’s a bustling community of condos and apartments, restaurants, and shops. And this summer, you can enjoy the best that it has to offer through Seaport Sweat.
Seaport Sweat is one of the most comprehensive outdoor fitness programs in Boston. With 153 (!) classes ranging from yoga to boxing to HIIT (high-intensity interval training), there’s something for everyone. And everyone is truly welcome. These are feel-good classes that are as much about fun as they are about fitness.
You could hardly ask for a better setting to get your heart pumping. The series, presented by WS Development and Boston Seaport, will take place on the Seaport Common. That’s right next to District Hall at 85 Northern Ave, in case you didn’t know. So, that means you’ll have views of the harbor as you get your sweat on.
Seaport Sweat kicks off June 1 and runs throughout the summer, ending on September 29. That’s four months’ worth of workouts…all for free!
The daily classes are taught by some of the most popular fitness instructors in the city. Look for workouts led by Monique Gagnon Magno of the fitness blog Burpees to Bubbly; Athena Concannon, the health coach and blogger behind Achieve with Athena; Eliza Shirazi, the founder of Kick It by Eliza; Kimberly Monty, a certified Kick It by Eliza instructor; and Jenna Hill of Jenna Hill Yoga. So just know that you’re in good hands.
What are you waiting for? Get the full schedule of classes now at Seaport Sweat’s website and add them to your calendar so you don’t miss a beat. We’ll see you on the Seaport Common this June!
We’ll keep you up to date on all things health, fitness and local food in Boston.
