There are few things you can’t get gluten-free these days. From pizza and pasta to bagels and beer, gluten-free eaters are no longer stuck with the token salad sans croutons. But there’s a catch — just because it’s free from gluten doesn’t mean it actually tastes good.
There are plenty gluten-free foods and brews that leave something to be desired, which is exactly what spurred the creation of Holidaily Brewing.
Holidaily is the passion project of Karen Hertz, a craft beer enthusiast and survivor of melanoma and thyroid cancer. With a post-cancer advisory to follow a gluten-free diet, she was left disappointed in her choices for gluten-free beer. So, she did her homework and set out to create her own!
Holidaily is the only commercial-scale, dedicated gluten-free brewing facility in Colorado. What does that mean? It means that celiacs can sip easy because gluten doesn’t even enter the doors of their facility — there’s never a chance of cross-contamination. It’s also damn good beer.
They keep the classics on tap year round (like the flagship, Favorite Blonde) and rotate in a fun selection of seasonals (like Cayenne Frontier Days Chile Stout and Patchy Waters Pumpkin Ale). You can check out their current tap list on their website.
Holidaily has become quite the haven for the gluten-free crowd, with a collection of GF-friendly food trucks crowding their lot on the daily. Check out their calendar for the schedule, and expect to find all kinds of local flavors — we’re talking chicken from Legs and Breasts, tacos from Epsy’s Street Eats, green chili and BBQ from Fire in the Hatch, gourmet rice balls (yes, really) from Ballin’ Out, and pizza from Victoria’s Gluten-Free Kitchen (formerly Gluten-Free Explorer).
Head to the brewery and tasting room in Golden, or find Holidaily’s suds in cans and on tap in bars, restaurants, and liquor stores around Denver and Boulder. Cheers!
