If you live in a Southern city like Charlotte, you’re no stranger to comfort food. But who said homestyle cookin’ can’t be full of flavor and good for you, too? Certainly not Siggy’s Good Food, a Brooklyn-based organic café loaded with Mediterranean flair that recently landed in the Queen City near Central. With a menu that reads better than your favorite book, they’re serving up a new generation of comfort-filled, homestyle eats in every bite.
The Siggy’s story starts back in 2005, when they opened their first storefront in Brooklyn Heights, followed by a second location in Manhattan in 2012. And now, they’ve officially moved beyond the Big Apple, bringing their delicious creations to Charlotte’s health-conscious crowd.
With ingredients that are always clean, pure, and organic, Siggy’s aims to serve real food that will nourish your body and delight your taste buds — and they’re doing just that. Try one of their salads or sandwiches for lunch, slurp down a fresh juice, or keep it classy with a glass of wine from their weekend selection.
But if you can’t decide (we get it), you can’t go wrong with their Greek Style Quinoa Avocado Salad or a sandwich on their Ciabatta Hero bread. Looking for something a little lighter? The Crostinis Plate (with choices like brie, fig paste, and almonds and ricotta, nova lox with capers) is always a win.
No matter what you order, you can rest easy knowing it won’t include any artificial ingredients, GMOs, starch, stocks, fillers, or thickeners. Even better — they’ve got options for all, carnivores, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free-eaters included.
If we haven’t made a Siggy’s believer out of you yet, here’s the clincher — they serve brunch, too. So you can get your greens in a Vegetable Frittata, satisfy your sweet tooth with Gluten-Free Banana Pancakes, or, heck, just settle in with an organic mimosa or spritzer. We’re not here to judge.
Stop by Siggy’s any day of the week but Monday, for fresh, flavorful food in a casual, cozy (and friendly) setting. Oh, and they offer crazy-convenient hours, so whether you choose to dine in or order online and pick up while you’re out, they’ll be ready with a comforting Mediterranean meal. Don’t mind if we do.
Ready to give it a try? Run, don’t walk, to 1001 Belmont Ave. in Charlotte. Or, you know, just drive because it’ll be faster.
