From one-of-a-kind restaurants to bars that make you wanna stay awhile, Plaza Midwood has it all. And now, they’ve got one more spot worth getting excited about: Yafo. That’s right: Yafo Kitchen, your favorite place for Mediterranean meets Middle Eastern grub, has found their second Charlotte home in Plaza Midwood.
New to Yafo or just need a refresher? Don’t worry — we’re here with a crash course on everything you need to know about your new go-to lunch spot.
It’s no secret that fast-casual eateries with a healthy twist are all the rage right now, but Yafo is a standout among the crowd.
Choose between one of their specialty items or take your meal and make it completely your own. If you stick to the menu, you definitely won’t regret the rotisserie chicken plate. You get two mezzes (sides)—and they’re all mouth-watering—but the greek yogurt mac ‘n cheese and brussels sprouts are where it’s at.
Want to make your meal a little more you? Build your own. Start with a base—like a grain or lettuce—and add your choice of fresh, flavorful toppings like Mediterranean Pickles and Quinoa Salad. Oh, and don’t forget your protein. The Chicken Shawarma will not disappoint, but at the Plaza Midwood spot you’ll also find Pork Gyro with Pork Belly on the menu. Feeling extra inspired? Check out the sauce bar, the options are endless. Just make sure you don’t leave without an order of the fresh-baked laffa bread.
But the best part about Yafo is their ingredients are homemade, healthy, and deliciously uncomplicated. Oh, and the portions are large, which only means one thing — leftovers.
Yafo has been treating taste buds in SouthPark for awhile, but now, you can visit them in Plaza Midwood at 1331 Central Ave. and, as of December 2018, in Dilworth. Stop by Sunday to Thursday, 11am to 9pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm.
And don’t let the line turn you away — it’s just proof Yafo is well worth the wait.
