  • 😎 Pop(-Up), Lock, And Drop It

It’s no secret that dance workouts are gaining major momentum in the fitness community, but did you know that the Menomonee Club is currently hosting a 305 Fitness Pop-Up? That’s right — now you can head to Old Town for a cardio dance party that will elevate your heart rate, leave you drenched in sweat, and have you begging for the playlists. For those of you who don’t think you can dance, 305 Fitness is here to prove you wrong.

  • ☕️ Caffeinating Consciously

Albany Park just got a whole lot trendier thanks to a new coffee shop that has just as much character as it does variety for caffeine-lovers. Khepri Cafe opened its community-focused shop last week, and its health-conscious menu has something for everyone. It serves up coffee from local roasters (right now, from Hexe Coffee Company), nutritious food options like vegan baked goods from beLIGHTful Bakery, house-made acai bowls, and CBD products that can be infused into any drink or meal.

  • 💯 Reform In Lincoln Park

A Lincoln Park group fitness collective is making major changes to its four studios under one roof. StudiosFuse has added reformer machines to its Hang 5 Fitness studio, taking its Pilates classes to a whole new level. While you’re there, you might want to check out two more freshly installed studios within the same space: ElectroFit Studio, which incorporates electrical muscle stimulation into specific exercises, and S.P.O.R.T. Fitness, a boxing gym with a bootcamp vibe.

  • 🤔 Did You Know?

It’s sometimes easy to forget about our bank accounts when it comes to our favorite fitness studios across the city, but Healthy Hood Chicago offers group workouts while keeping our budgets a priority. All classes on the schedule are only five dollars — and no, that’s not a typo. The Pilsen nonprofit offers a variety of classes designed for all levels, including barre, cardio kickboxing, yoga, and strength training.

  • 😍 PURPL Train

Train rides can make us all a little hungry, and now we have a healthy option right in between Metra stations in the West Loop to satisfy our cravings. DEEP PURPL has recently joined the food court at Ogilvie Transportation Center and is serving up all of your superfood needs. Enjoy massive açaí bowls layered with a variety of fruits, seeds, granola, and more. Let’s just say your commute in and out of the city just got a little more delicious.

  • 🌎 Two Planets, One City

For as flat as Chicago is, we sure do love to climb. That’s why the Windy City is getting yet another indoor climbing gym, but in two different neighborhoods — and they’re going to be big ones. Originating in California, Planet Granite is making its way to the Midwest and will open Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville later this year. Both facilities will feature 40,000 square feet of climbing terrain, yoga, and other group fitness classes that will make you feel higher than life (especially on the 50-foot climbing walls).

  • 💫 Beyond Coffee

We’re not even quite sure how to classify Hexe Coffee, because even though “coffee” is in its name, it’s definitely not your average coffee shop. In addition to roasting their own coffee, Hexe Coffee also serves alcohol and makes homemade baked goods — many of which are vegan. Plus, you can find the cafe where Bucktown meets Roscoe Village, so even its location is trendy.

  • 😍 Brooklyn Boulders x 2

Some people say “less is more”, but not when it comes to one of our favorite places for indoor climbing. Brooklyn Boulders is making plans to add two more climbing gyms to the Chicago fitness scene — this time in Lincoln Park and Logan Square. We’ll keep you updated once we know more, but in the meantime, check out BKB in the West Loop if you aren’t sure why we’re so excited.

  • 🥗 Delivering The Green

It’s no secret that we can’t get enough of Sweetgreen, and Lincoln Park is the newest neighborhood to give the people what they want. The fast-casual, wildly popular salad eatery is now open in the North Side neighborhood for your fresh food cravings. Too cold to get there? Sweetgreen now delivers throughout the city — how’s that for sweet?

  • ☝️ In High Demand

We had a feeling the debut of Bobby O’Brien and Erin Schirack’s MVFitness was about to be the next biggest cardio craze, and our instincts couldn’t be more accurate. The themed cardio dance parties held once a week at SX Skybar downtown have been selling out every week since the debut in early January. Experiencing FOMO? You’re not alone, which is why an additional class is being added to the schedule, meaning you have back-to-back opportunities to sweat it out while you dance it out every Saturday in February.

  • 🧘 High Vibes Only

Pilsen is about to get a lot more flexible with its newest yoga studio that just opened its doors on Monday. High Vibe Society offers a huge variety of classes (over 35!) that are specifically designed to make yogis of all levels feel welcome in the gorgeous new space. Treat your mind and body by taking an unlimited amount of classes during your first two weeks for just 20 dollars, and check out the studio’s assortment of CBD retail products while you’re there.

  • 😍 Waiting (On) A Life Time

It’s time to start looking forward to some major developments that are going to change how Chicago thinks about fitness. Luxe athletic club Life Time is set to move into One Chicago, a condo building in River North, and they’ll be creating a fitness resort of sorts that offers boutique group fitness classes, a lap pool, cafe, and even a spa. And let’s not forget about the Equinox Hotel plans in the West Loop; after delay, they’re breaking ground this summer. Both might take some time to officially open (2022 and 2021, respectively), but it’s never too early to get excited.
