Chicago has tons of new fitness studios popping up throughout the city, so it’s not always easy to keep track of which ones are worth traveling for. But StudiosFUSE does just what its name suggests: merges four different fitness boutiques into one gorgeous space. So it makes sense that the Lincoln Park fitness center is easily one of Chi-town’s most popular workout spots.
As soon as you walk into StudiosFUSE, you’ll notice a lounge area on your way to the front desk that is surprisingly spacious (a rarity amongst many other fitness boutiques) and filled with eclectic furniture. On the other side of the lounge is one of Chicago’s favorite (and healthiest) juice shops: JuiceRx (also in Wicker Park and Old Town). With so many healthy snacks, cold-pressed juices, smoothie bowls and more, it’s easy to forget that you’re actually there to workout.
But as soon as you make your way through the hallway that leads to the studios, you’ll quickly remember exactly why you’re there. Like we said, StudiosFUSE combines four individual studios: KICK@55, Hang5 Fitness, Iron & Oar, and Sproing Fitness. And although each studio is different, all of them will leave you drenched in sweat.
The KICK@55 studio offers bootcamp-style classes that offer a variety of 55-minute classes that involve different routines each time, including obstacle courses. Classes focus on upper-body, lower-body, and full-body. And trust us — all of them will kick your @55. The studio also offers personal training and nutrition tips.
Hang5 Fitness, which used to be right down the street, made the move to be a part of StudiosFUSE, and the place wouldn’t be the same without it. Work on your balance with classes that are done completely on stationary surf boards that force you to engage your core the entire time, all while feeling like you’re at the beach. If you want even more, Hang5 also offers barre classes.
If you’re a yogi (new or experienced) looking for ways to get creative on your mat, yogaSPACE offers six different classes that range from mellow to intense, and everything in between. Choose from Glow Yoga, Yoga Recovery, Yoga Flow, Yoga Sculpt, and more, with the opportunity for guided meditation in the studio throughout various parts of the day (headset included).
And how do we even describe Sproing Fitness? Think: a HIIT class with treadmills, but ditch the tread and add Sproing machines instead. The machine harnesses you so that you work against resistance on a spongy surface while protecting your joints. Weights are added into the mix as well, making this one serious(ly amazing) workout.
With so much going on in each studio at StudiosFUSE, it’s normal to experience a fear of missing out when it comes to such a unique fitness space.
