Student or not, if you find yourself on the DePaul University campus when those hunger pangs hit, your only options are endless, unhealthy temptations such as pizza, burgers, and Ramen noodles.
Well, no longer! Say hello to Beatrix Market DePaul Loop.
This new concept, a buffet-style eatery from the masterminds behind River North’s health-centric Beatrix (now open in Streeterville, River North, and Fulton Market), has all the same on–the-go convenience as your run-of-the-mill fast food joint without the extra calories.
Get Schooled on Fresh Eats
It’s time to trade in those soggy fries and greasy burgers for something a bit more satisfying. Here, in addition to slices of ‘za (everything in moderation, right?), you can pick up a quick cauliflower or superfood salad, plenty of whole grains (we love a good grain bowl?), and fruit and fresh veggies from the market’s buffet lines, all of which can be wrapped up to go.
Who needs a Taco Bell Fourth Meal when you’ve got fresh greens, proteins, and a make-your-own yogurt bar all displayed in a magnificent spread? Consider it a feast for your eyes and your stomach.
Oh, and did we mention there’s also a full-service bar serving up $5 glasses of red and white every day from 2pm to 5pm to help wash it all down? That’s what we call a win-win, folks.
All The Sweet Treats
If Beatrix Market is majoring in health-conscious convenience, they have to be minoring in inclusive dietary needs.
Gluten-free guests will find plenty to munch on in both the savory and sweet departments — think Emmy’s Gluten-Free Cream Cheese Coffee Cake and angel food cake muffins. There’s even a GF catering menu!
Ultimately, you don’t need to be a student or have a degree to figure out that Beatrix Market DePaul Loop is one dining stop you’d be silly not to make — we’re giving them a well-deserved A+.
