Let’s face it. If you live in New York, you’ve probably been hooked on CityRow’s high-intensity, low-impact workouts since they opened their doors in 2014. They’ve redefined cardio workouts and put rowing on the map with total-body sweat sessions that combine water rowing with intense strength-training intervals on the mat (Think: free weights, planks, and squats).
And up until now, we’ve only had one beef — we could only get in on calorie-burning action in Union Square or the Upper East Side.
But that’s all about to change. The boutique fitness studio has some well-laid plans for the new year that include expanding its reach outside the Empire State.
Ready the Heartland — CityRow has set its sights on the Midwest.
Come spring, fitness junkies looking to switch up their routine will be able to row their hearts out and tone muscles they didn’t know they had at the studio’s new location in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Expect the same 50-minute, head-to-toe, endurance-boosting classes CityRow has perfected during its four years as a New York staple. Featuring at least 20 WaterRower rowing machines and their signature body-sculpting exercises, the new studio in town will not disappoint. But you’ll just have to see for yourself, won’t you?
CityRow’s first franchised studio is setting up shop in Wolverine territory, just a block from the University of Michigan. And while no official opening date has been nailed down yet, trust us — once one is set, you’re not going to be able to sign up for a class fast enough.
This studio is about to be your new favorite place to row it out and sweat your stress away after a long day at work (or in class).
Feeling super bummed you don’t live in Michigan? Don’t worry — the Great Lakes State is just stop one. With plans to expand nationwide, the next time you turn around, CityRow could be launching its newest franchise in your neck of the woods. Better start petitioning!
We’ll keep you up to date on all things health, fitness and local food in Pittsburgh.
