We love comfort food, and we’re sure you know the feeling of waiting for cheat day to get your fix.

Well, CBUS is full of culinary surprises and has got a pop-up vegan cafe who goes heavy on flavor and light on guilt. Serving the best seasonally-inspired plant-based comfort food, Woodhouse Vegan Cafe will soon be satisfying your cravings more days of the week.

MASTERS OF (VEGAN) COMFORT FOOD

Woodhouse Vegan Cafe is currently a pop-up restaurant serving brand spankin’ new menu items every week at Oddfellows Liquor Bar on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6pm to 10pm. Though, they’re about to sink some original roots into the Columbus plant-based scene — this 100% vegan and binge-worthy restaurant is coming soon to 4th St. and 1st Ave. in the Italian Village. And this spot isn’t messing around when it comes to comfort food, vegan-style. From sourcing goods from local bakeries like Lucky Cat and using Beyond Meat patties, these chefs are determined to save the planet—or at least dinner—one vegetable at a time.

BRING ON THE “CHEESE”

Okay, before you keep reading, remember that this is a 100% vegan restaurant — that means “cheese” and “meat” might come in different shapes and textures. While their current menu features new items every week, you can always order from their OG favorites  — American grilled cheese, loaded nachos, soft pretzel bites, salad (they take their salads very seriously), and, always there for you, pickle chips.

Want a taste of the real comfort food? Here’s what we’re hoping the new cafe offers year round: their award-winning Vegan Mac (gouda with truffle panko), Broccoli Chz soup with cashew sour cream and ‘bacon’ bites, Eggless Salad Sandwich made with tofu, greens, and red onion on country white, Phish Tacos, and Mexican Street Corn. And we love that their menu is loaded with ingredients like house-made parm, gouda, creamy garlic sauce, provolone (remember: 100% vegan).

If we’ve convinced you that finding plant-based and comfort food on the same plate isn’t a unicorn, head over to Oddfellows to get your fix immediately. And keep your eyes open for this new spot coming to the Italian Village! We think it’ll fit right in — just look at this food!
