IMAGE VIA FLOWER CHILD
It’s not all Tex-Mex and Frito pies in Dallas. There are tons of healthy places to grab a bite, and our ultimate favorite has got to be Flower Child. With fresh, flavorful dishes we can customize however we like, they’re our go-to spot for wholesome eats.
That’s why we were super stoked that they recently expanded, opening another bright and sunny eatery at Rosewood Court at the beginning of November! But this location will have something you won’t find at any other Flower Child. Yep — they’ve chosen our city to debut a lounge, full bar, and a separate, specialty menu.
It’s easy to understand why Flower Child is so popular in the Metroplex. It’s the perfect place to stop for a quick bite or Sunday brunch with friends. And with a seasonal menu focused on veggies, grains, fruits, and good-for-you proteins, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere, why go anywhere else?
Plus, they have every type of eater covered, from plant-based and paleo to gluten- and dairy-free. When you’re in the mood for something light, grab one of their mouth-watering starters (we’re obsessed with the Avocado Hummus) or salads made with all-organic produce. Whatever you do, don’t skip the house-made lemon avocado dressing.
If you’re ordering off the exclusive new Lounge menu, expect a selection of creative snacks and toasts—the Mission Fig is a must—as well as dips with crudité and grilled pita, a Vegan Chef Board, seasonal flatbread, and a Grass-fed Burger (a Flower Child first!).
But if a heartier meal is what you’re after, you’ll want to check out the scratch-made bowls, wraps, and entrées. Many of their bowls are vegan and gluten-free, but you can easily mix things up by adding shrimp, chicken, steak, salmon, or tofu.
When it comes to the wraps, we’re big fans of The Rebel, featuring a whole wheat, flax, and chia seed tortilla filled with grass-fed steak, charred onion, Port Salut cheese, arugula, and horseradish yogurt. And if you’re going for an entrée, you’ll have a choice of everything from their seasonal Yuzu Brussels Sprouts and Roasted Butternut Squash to gluten-free mac & cheese, Indian Spiced Cauliflower, and more to go with your protein.
To wash it all down, take your pick of organic cold brew and kombucha (both on tap), seasonal lemonade, local beer, sangria, and wine. The Lounge menu also includes a range of handcrafted cocktails, like the Love Lemon Love made with Texas vodka, muddled strawberry, clementine, goji-pom, and kombucha. And if you want to take advantage of their pretty sweet happy hour, make sure you stop by Monday–Friday from 3–6pm or anytime on Sunday. See, we told you this place was great!
Thanks to Flower Child, scoring a healthy meal you can feel good about has never been easier. And now, you have one more place to enjoy all your favorites — and discover some new ones, too.
Can’t get enough? The Uptown location also includes a cozy, semi-private dining space that’s perfect for hosting a special event with friends or family. They’ve really thought of everything.
