Plant-lovers are pretty lucky here in the Mile High. There’s no shortage of veggie-friendly options when it comes to eating out. Heck, we’ve even got vegan beer. So, it should come as no surprise that you can now nosh on all things plants even while you’re out to the movies.
Alamo Drafthouse has never been one to phone it in when it comes to food. In addition to good booze and local beer, they’ve always offered more legit eats delivered right to your seats. But now the movie theater chain is kicking it up a notch. In response to growing customer demand for plant-powered plates, they’ve just launched a dedicated vegan menu at both of their Colorado theaters — in Littleton and Sloan’s Lake.
If you’re looking for an app or light bite, try the buffalo cauliflower with vegan ranch. Or amp up your avocado toast game — theirs is smashed with charred corn and basil, then topped with rocket arugula and fresh lemon.
For the main event, try the roasted vegetable quinoa bowl — it’s loaded with sweet potato, spiced cashews, cauliflower, broccolini, and roasted peppers, all tossed with baby kale and quinoa in a tahini ginger dressing. And for something between the bread, you can bite into the seared tofu sandwich (hello, vegan sriracha aioli!) or a juicy burger made with Beyond Meat (more on that here).
Craving more traditional movie fare? No problem, because the pizzas can be made with vegan cheese (and gluten-free cauliflower crust!) and they’ve made one just for veggie-lovers — the veggie supreme!
So, forget the popcorn. There are far better ways to fill your belly while you enjoy the show.
