Denver is full of fun neighborhoods, each boasting their own character and accompanying strengths. And one of the trendiest as of late is RiNo. Short for “River North Art District” and known for its colorful murals and edgy vibe, the streets of RiNo are lined with restaurants, breweries, and galleries to suit all sorts of tastes.
While its growth has been rapid over the last few years, there’s still one thing missing from RiNo’s repertoire. Yes, we’re talking about a farmers market, and yes, that’s about to change. So, gather your grocery bags because RiNo has not one, but TWO farmers markets starting summer 2019!
The Saturday market will be a Colorado Fresh Market, put on by the same organization that has been hosting the massive markets in Cherry Creek and City Park for over 20 years. This latest installation will feature strictly-seasonal produce (a hallmark of CFM), freshly picked that morning by local, high-quality, and organic growers Ela Family Farms and Domenico Farms. The RiNo Fresh Market will set up at Boxyard Park beginning Saturday, June 15 and occur weekly through October. It’ll be open from 9am until 1pm, making it the perfect post-brunch or after-workout activity.
The pop-up park also creates an ideal setting for the market. Amidst the art, local produce, and craft food will be places to kick back and enjoy the weather while you grab a snack from a food truck. And the whole area is dog-friendly, meaning you can have a full tote in one hand and your furry pal in the other.
Not to be outdone, the second market has a lot to offer. The RiNo Farmers Market will happen Sundays starting June 2 at the EXDO Event Center. The weekly market will run from 9am until 2pm through the end of September.
Miller Farms will be on site with the best of what’s in season so that you can head home and meal prep like a champ. And it’s sure to make your Sunday a fun day, with a beer and mimosa garden, live music, and fresh bites. Because why not indulge while you browse?
We know you didn’t need another reason to show RiNo some love, but we’re giving you two anyway. Grab your gang and get ready to support your local growers and makers all summer long!
