One of the (many) amazing things about living in Colorado is that no matter the season, there are tons of opportunities to be active outside. Don’t be bummed that hiking season is winding down and runs and bike rides will soon require many more layers. Why? Because snow is already hitting the mountains!

We’ve compiled a complete list of opening days and festivities by resort, so get those skis and boards out of storage and start planning your season. Access might be limited in the early season, so make sure you check the websites to find out which lifts and runs are open. Oh, and maybe download some podcasts for those I-70 drives…

Be there on Friday, November 16 when the lifts start turning for breakfast burritos, music, and free swag giveaways. Passes: Epic, Epic Local

Fuel up for your first runs at the annual chocolate chip cookie competition. The opening day party on Wednesday, November 21 also includes music, hot chocolate, and chances at free swag. Passes: Epic, Epic Local

They opened on Wednesday, November 7, and it was epic (pun intended) as usual! Passes: Epic, Epic Local, Epic Summit Value

After you race for first chair at 9am, stick around for live music, lots of excitement, and pass holder specials. On Saturday, November 17, enjoy FREE access to The Barn! Passes: Ikon, Ikon Base

The party starts on Wednesday, November 14 with first chair on Arrow Lift at 9am. Enjoy live music and grab a CLIF Bar for some fuel on the go. When it’s time to warm up, hit Derailer Bar for drink specials and an afternoon raffle. And keep those phones close, you may get a selfie with Broncos mascot Miles — he’ll be making his way around the mountain all day. Passes: Ikon, Ikon Base

They’re open, and true to Eldora style, without much fanfare. Enjoy the quick drive, easy parking, and plenty of snow to get you warmed up for the season. And if you haven’t been in a couple years, they’ve now got a high-speed lift and RFID tech. Passes: Ikon, Ikon Base

Free Korbel mimosas and champagne powder donuts, plus Ohana t-shirts for the first 100 skiers and riders. Then hang around to watch the official “Snow Dance” to toast to the season. Passes: Ikon, Ikon Base

Crested Butte opens on Thanksgiving, but if you want to get in on the action a day early, a $15 donation gets you a lift ticket valid for Wednesday, November 21. All proceeds from Donation Day will go to the mission of supporting the youth in the Gunnison Valley in their pursuits of sportsmanship, passion, and discipline through snow sport experiences. Plus, snag free coffee, hot chocolate, doughnut holes, and pocket bacon. Opening ceremonies start at 9am, and the first 100 people on the Red Lady Express will get a Crested Butte Mountain Resort branded buff! Passes: Ikon, Ikon Base, Epic, Epic Local

Aspen traditionally opens with a season kick-off classic in Snowmass Base Village. What is it? Some legit skiers and snowboarders throw down to get you amped up for the upcoming season. Opening Day is Saturday, November 17. Passes: Aspen/Snowmass, The Mountain Collective, Ikon, Ikon Base

Thanks to a dumping of October snow, Keystone opened early this year! Passes: Epic Local, Summit Value, Keystone/A-Basin

Unsurprisingly, A-Basin was once again the first in the country to open for daily skiing this year. Fitt Tip: if your schedule is flexible (and you want to avoid the weekend rush) grab a midweek season pass to A-Basin and save $100 — it’s only $259 all winter! Passes: Epic, Epic Local, Double Down, Keystone/A-Basin

They’re open! Go check out their new high-speed quad lift, Chet’s Dream. Pass: Loveland
