We know, it kinda feels like winter never really came to Colorado. But snow or not, springtime is just around the corner. And you know what that means — beer runs! And a whole lot of them, thanks to the Brewery Running Series.
Run for beer!
Back for another year, the series promises to rack up thousands of miles, and crush thousands of brews. How does it work? It’s simple, really. Run or walk a 5k(ish) course that starts and ends at a local brewery. Then relax and rehydrate with beer, music, food, and plenty of other craft beer-loving Coloradans.
The run is fun and casual, not competitive. And with so many good breweries throughout the Front Range, the opportunities for partnerships are endless.
So dig out those running shorts, the season opener for this fun-filled series is upon us. The season kicks off at Runners Roost on February 24 with a quick run, free beer, giveaways, and discounts on season passes to the series of runs. Just be sure to bring your ID. It’s a beer run, after all.
Beyond the beer
But it’s more than just pairing some exercise with good beer — a portion of all proceeds goes back to local nonprofits. In 2017, they partnered with the Dumb Friends League, The Park People, Safehouse Denver, and The House that Beer Built. In fact, in just two years, the Colorado Brewery Running Series (and its participants) have donated almost $6,000 to local nonprofits.
Whether or not you make it to the kickoff event, start filling up your calendar — the series has 24 events lined up for 2018. That’s a lotta miles. And a lotta good beer.
