In a city where there are over 300 days of sunshine, CrossFit has transformed Denver training regimens for the better.
As boxes (aka what CrossFit calls gyms) continue to pop up in Colorado, people continue to become hooked on the WODs and incomparable communities that come with them. It’s true: CF can be semi-addicting, but we can’t blame you — the proof is in the puddin’ (and in your growing biceps).
If you’re looking at where to start or how to eat PRs for breakfast, we’re here to help point you in the right direction.
You’ll come for the workout but you’ll keep coming back for the community. CrossFit Train and its fearless female owner/trainer has created something badass within and outside of these four walls. “Position before performance” is a motto they run by, meaning you’re going to lift right or not at all. Plus, the atmosphere at their downtown box will truly cancel out the intimidation factor for new CrossFitters.
You can find this 2000-square-feet box in the heart of Santa Fe’s Art District. The art they create, however, is with barbells and bumper plates. Really, if you’re looking for the motivation to hit a new goal, CrossFit Elevation takes pride in pushing you to find it. So much so, your first visit comes with a free non-sweat consultation with their head coach to determine goals and aspirations.
In the heart of LoDo, CrossFit Verve welcomes all skill sets — from “never done a burpee” to “ring muscle-up”. Here, you can split jerk your way into the WOD coached by the friendliest staff in town, or become part of the Elements program — a great beginner program for those looking to build a strong foundation. Looking for more endurance? They have that covered too by offering Verve Sprint, a row/run/lift WOD. So, when we say “any skill set is welcome”, we mean it. Verve also offers a family-friendly WOD three times each week — yes, that means childcare! Come one, come all.
Aside from being the top-rated box in the Denver area, CF Broadway offers another way to spice up your daily CF routine with their exclusive F.I.T. classes. This bootcamp-style workout pushes your body in a different way than classic CF, but just as effective — your shrinking waistline will thank us later. CF Broadway has a philosophy we can stand behind and a community we’d stand with any day!
CrossFit Wash Park
Wash Park is home to just about everything great: Cozy cafes, excellent eats, and beautiful parks. So, it’s no surprise Wash Park is home to one of the top CF box gyms in the area. Not only do the coaches at CFWP push you but the members are all your cheerleaders as well. That’s come in handy whenever you’re trying to stand up a PR squat. Still have hesitations? First-timers are given a free trial, and we guarantee CFWP will put you to work!
Well, the name says it all. Active + existence = Axistence. And this Glendale CrossFit gym is rated for its stellar coaching on anatomy and nutrition, specialized functional fitness classes like “How to Climb a 14er”, and promotes you getting moving in your everyday life. This all gives your typical CrossFit WOD a twist to help train for just about any outdoor, Denver activity.
Who doesn’t love a mountain view? Well add “enjoy mountain view” to your WOD checklist. At MBS in Broomfield, you can cross that one off. Run by a legend, Pat Burke, this CrossFit gym is full athletes who are not trying to compete with you, but rather encourage you. We know it can be hard to find legitimate coaches who will tell you the truth about your form, but have no fear here: the coaches at MBS won’t hold back. This gym is dedicated to make you a better athlete (while providing the quintessential Colorado views). It’s a bit of a drive from Metro Denver, but trust us — it’s worth it.
With downtown catching the eye of cultured restaurants, craft beer breweries, and people moving from all over the globe, 720 Athletics (formerly CrossFit 720) found its home right in the heart of it all. Offering all classes for all size, shape, and types of athletes, 720 is truly a hometown crowd-pleaser run by its fearless leader (and CrossFit Games vet), April DiGiannantonio.
CrossFit LoDo greets anyone who walks in with open arms, whether you’re a disciplined, paleo-eating WOD-er, or a newb. CF LoDo made its home in the Ballpark area and offers not only your typical WOD, but Level 1 coaching for those looking to improve their form, and yoga for CrossFitters on off-days. If you ask us, able bodies need the CF LoDo treatment.
Uniting CrossFit tactics with a healthy dose of badass makes this Lincoln Park box a great place to get ripped while having fun. CF DeCO is built by athletes and your everyday exercisers who truly believe in the power of community. So much so, they offer a FREE class every Saturday! And to balance out all that lifting, check out one of their two weekly yoga classes.

CrossFit Per Ignem
There’s nothing we love to see more than fitness changing lives. In the heart of LoDo, Per Ignem CrossFit does just that. While Per Ignem fosters peak performing athletes, they are more about promoting physical and mental health to lead a well-rounded life… and we LOVE the sound of that. Plus, with access to all three studios (Hey, Boston! Hey, Newport Beach!), members are always welcomed to workout with the Per Ignem family from coast-to-coast.
