Functional training. It’s what we’re all after. But F45—that’s F for functional and 45 for the total amount of time you’ll workout—offers a truly simple concept and all the motivation you’ll need to get your butt in the gym week after week.
A HIIT workout class that offers a team atmosphere to help, guess who? YOU! Time to be stronger than your excuses, Houston, because F45 is coming in hot with plans to spread their fitness empire all over our fine city.
F45 originated in Australia and the concept—like the workouts—caught on quickly. The franchise has more than 800 studios worldwide, including 15 planned sweat spots around town. And with 27 different workout themes and a base of more than 3,000 exercises, you can guarantee that no two workouts are the same.
F45 pairs you up with one to two other people and you stick together during the entire circuit workout. Friends who sweat together, right? Circuits are based on functional training — meaning they mirror everyday movements and utilize multiple muscle groups. Go ahead, get your warrior workout on.
Don’t worry about memorizing the moves, though. Each studio contains TVs that demonstrate the daily workouts and trainers (typically one to three per class) that offer help and form adjustment throughout class.
Even more convenient than the intense 45-minute workout? F45 studios are popping up like newly drilled oil from a derrick. They are all over Harris County and the fitness studio already has eight locations in West University, Sienna Plantation (Missouri City), Kelliwood (Katy), Creekside (Spring), Magnolia (The Woodlands), Greatwood (Richmond), Bridgeland (Cypress) and Cinco Ranch West (Katy).
And are you ready for this? New locations are planned to open soon in EaDo, Greater Heights, Pearland, Sugar Land, Louetta, West Rose Hill and College Park Plaza in The Woodlands. Phew!
That’s right, there’s about to be an F45 on just about every street corner in Houston. So leave your excuses at home, it’s time to sweat.
