We all know nothing beats the feeling you get after a particularly brutal workout. Well, thanks to CITYROW, Los Angeles will soon have a new place to break a sweat and catch an endorphin high because the dedicated rowing studio is opening its first California studio in Westlake Village.
The concept combines sweaty strength work with grueling rowing drills for a workout that’s high-intensity, low-impact, and super efficient. And while your endurance and willpower are going to be put to the test, we promise you’ll always be happy you went.
They say a single rowing stroke works 84% of the muscles in your body, so we hope you’re prepared for an intense workout. But in CITYROW’s signature classes, you won’t just pick a rower and go through the motions for 50 minutes. Nope, during these cardio-heavy sessions, you’ll switch between drills on their custom, water-based rowers and resistance exercises that target your arms, legs, and core. (We warned you this wouldn’t be easy.)
Never been to a rowing class? Don’t sweat it. Classes are suited for newbies and veterans alike. That’s why each session starts with a warm-up that focuses on proper rowing technique before beginning a series of all-out circuits. Every class ends with a monthly finisher exercise that is consistent across all CITYROW studios throughout the country. Then, you’ll cool down with a group stretch before wiping the sweat away and riding those feel-good vibes all day long.
So, what will LA's first CITYROW location look like? Expect a spacious studio with 20 WaterRowers, shower facilities, and individual lockers, all detailed with the brand's classic blue.
Opening day details are still being kept on the down-low, but when we know, you’ll know. And like with every other CITYROW location, your first week is free, so really, you’ve got no excuse not to check ’em out. Keep and eye on their Instagram for updates!
