Miami knows how to work up a sweat. And if you’re not sure where to start, we’ve scoured the scene to find some of the best spots in the city. So grab a towel, a water bottle, and your workout buddy and get ready for some serious muscle burn.
If you’re clipping in your cycling shoes at RedBike in Brickell or Midtown, just know that this workout will be no easy task. What you’re in for is a cardio-heavy ride complete with bumpin’ beats (think Cardi B, Rihanna, and Kanye West), rhythm-based choreography, and lighting technology meant to mimic that of a Miami nightclub. Oh, and because this is a full-body workout, don’t be surprised when they throw small hand weights into the mix. Fitt Tip: if you’re short on time but still want to get in a quick sweat, they offer a 35-minute Express class that you can fit in during your lunch break.
As with every major city, [solidcore] has a major presence in Miami — and it’s only growing. If you’ve attended a class before, you’re probably familiar with their signature [sweatlana]. But if you haven’t, you’ll want to mentally prepare. Their specially-designed machine may look similar to a Reformer, however, it’s going to take your workout to a whole new level thanks to a series of resistance-based exercises and long holds that will push you to your edge. Most studios are limited to 15 machines, which means classes fill up quick, so plan accordingly. For now, you can check out their studios in Boca Raton and Midtown Miami.
We’re all for a zen yoga class, which is why we can’t get enough of Exhale. The part spa, part fitness studio concept will help you build strength and break a sweat via fast-paced Vinyasa flows focused on mindful movement. And if you want to switch up your routine, they also offer full-body barre classes along with a handful of interval-based cardio workouts for an added challenge. With locations in downtown, Bal Harbour, South Beach, and even the Miami International Airport, clear your mind with an hour-long class followed by a quick massage. Yeah, working out at a spa definitely has its perks.
With studios peppered all over the city and weekday classes that start as early as 6:30am, JetSet makes squeezing one of their signature workouts into your schedule a no-brainer. Perfect for fitness junkies of all levels, this Miami favorite specializes in Pilates-based workouts that’ll help you lengthen and tone your arms, legs, and core through a mix of weight and strength training exercises. Don’t expect to use a traditional Reformer though. You’ll be sweating it out on their custom-built fitness equipment and, trust us — this machine is no joke.
We love a good rooftop hang session. But instead of indulging in a glass of sunset rosé after work, head to Pilathon in Wynwood for a rooftop Pilates class complete with scenic views of the Miami skyline. You’ll be grateful for the distraction once the muscle burn sets in, and believe us — it will. While their workouts are low-intensity, the combination of controlled movements is no joke. And if you really want to take things up a notch, they also offer Pilarow, a total-body class that’s equal parts Pilates and indoor rowing, and a Pilates + TRX mash-up.
Think of Title Boxing Club as your ultimate introduction to the boxing world. This studio prides itself on welcoming all levels of experience and athletic abilities, offering inclusive workouts meant to challenge the mind and body. Alongside their lineup of HIIT-based boxing, kickboxing, and MMA classes, they also offer personal training sessions to help you perfect your technique (and nail that power punch). Check ’em out in Brickell, and don’t be surprised when more studios start popping up.
Ah, SoulCycle. You’ve definitely heard about it. They were one of the first cycling studios in Miami, after all. But they’ve also made a name for themselves thanks to their hardcore, high-intensity workouts, motivational instructors, and welcoming community. And no matter where you are on your cycling journey, they’ve got your back with classes that are geared toward riders of all types. Make no mistake, though, you’ll have to dig deep and give it all you got to make it through to the end. Whoever said indoor cycling was easy never tried a class at SoulCycle. Clip in at their locations in Brickell, Coral Gables, and South Beach.
This boutique studio is one of the country’s biggest fitness franchises, and with locations on practically every corner, they’re no stranger in Miami. This science-backed, performance-driven workout is one of the most effective in the game, combining cardio, weight training, and bodyweight exercises in one power-fueled fitness routine you’ll likely become addicted to. And even though classes are taught in groups, their instructors are the best around, which means you’ll get attention similar to what you’d find in a one-on-one session.

It’s sleek and clean, the staff is friendly, and there’s way more to experience beyond the weight and cardio rooms (we’re talking luxury amenities like complimentary eucalyptus towels, steam rooms, fully-stocked showers and locker rooms, and even laundry service). It’s basically a one-stop-shop for all things self-care. It also doesn’t hurt that you’ll have access to all the free weights, dumbbells, and cardio machines you'll ever need, as well as individualized Pilates sessions, a rotating calendar of group fitness classes, and a state-of-the-art spa. And with five Miami-area locations, it doesn’t get better than this.
If the idea of an hour-long workout doesn’t sound like your kind of thing, you’re going to want to check out Rise Nation in Buena Vista. This LA-based concept offers a signature, 30-minute, high-energy routine that centers around a machine called the VersaClimber, which simulates vertical climbing. (It’s a lot harder than it sounds.) Still not convinced? It’s a favorite workout among celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Hilary Duff, so book a class and get ready to sweat like an A-lister.
Barry’s Bootcamp has quickly taken a large stake in Miami’s fitness game. With studios in Midtown, Miami Beach, and Aventura (and more on the way), don’t be alarmed when every class on their schedule is nearly sold out. Here, you’ll push yourself harder than you thought possible as you alternate between running and lifting in their red-lit room. Plus, you’ll inevitably become part of what’s known as Barry’s Fit Fam, giving you a group of friends to sweat and hang with in and outside the studio. Fitt Tip: Barry’s Bootcamp hosts numerous events (happy hours and parties included) throughout the year, so make sure to keep your eye out for upcoming happenings.
TruFusion in Coral Gables is heating up your workout — literally. That’s right, they crank up the thermostat in the majority of their classes, heating them to a sweat-inducing temperature that results in less warm-up time and more intensity. And with more than 200 workout routine variations, don’t expect to ever do the same workout twice. From strength and restorative classes to conditioning and sculpting sessions, take your pick and pack a few extra towels — you’re going to need them.
Personal trainers, high-tech equipment, and energetic classes — Anatomy has it all. Set up in Miami Beach and Midtown, this modern health club is behind its own proprietary fitness program, which focuses on strength conditioning as much as it does recovery. Which is why their studios include both an infrared sauna and a eucalyptus steam room, as well as a cold sauna. Worried about completing the same old routine over and over again? Don’t be — there’s a full range of classes and fitness options, from individualized sessions to group workouts, including Pilates, Power Yoga, and bootcamps.
Vixen Workout is taking center stage as a dance fitness studio with an atmosphere designed to create an upbeat, performance-driven experience.
