Thanks to rival Echelon Cycling & Fitness, high-end connected bikes are no longer a luxury reserved for the fitness elite. The boutique brand recently opened its second-ever studio in Miami and stocked it with more than 40 of its EX1 Smart Connect bikes.
This is a big deal. Because now, you don’t have to cough up $2,000 to experience the thrill of competing with other cyclists on a global scale or sweating it out on a top-tier bike. All you have to do is sign up for a studio membership at Echelon. Compared to the price tag of a Peloton, we’re guessing that’s something you can swing.
But Echelon’s Miami location doesn’t just offer the opportunity to clip in to their fancy heart rate-, power-, and performance-tracking bikes for a muscle-burning ride. The studio also acts as a production facility for their live and on-demand classes. So, better start perfecting those tap backs and push-ups — the next time you’re in the saddle, you might be the one showing the whole Echelon fam how it’s done.
If cycling isn’t your thing, no worries. The brand also makes other at-home exercise equipment, including a high-tech streaming device known as Reflect that gives you access to live and one-on-one strength training, Pilates, yoga, and meditation classes, plus a connected rower. Though, you’ll have to shell out the big bucks for one of these state-of-the-art pieces of equipment.
And if you ask us, we’d rather sign up for an affordable membership that comes with access to Echelon’s top-of-the-line bikes and the chance at 15 minutes of fame.
