One of the biggest perks of living in Miami is that it’s always ice cream season. Even better, many of the city’s creameries are vegan-friendly, and stocked with a number of creative, dairy-free flavors.

Check out our definitive guide to Miami’s best vegan ice cream shops.

Miami residents and visitors line up daily for Serendipity Creamery’s single-batch, oh-so-creamy vegan sorbet. The bright, welcoming cafe in Miami’s Surfside neighborhood makes everything from scratch, and their dairy-free flavors include passion fruit, raspberry, and mango. Order a scoop (or three), and take a sunset stroll along the nearby beach boardwalk.

Its moniker says it alI—Ice Dream Parlor is any vegan's dream. Located inside Coconut Grove’s all-vegan vShops Food Hall, this shop's cones, sundaes, milkshakes, and floats are entirely plant-based. Keep it simple with a scoop of vanilla in a gluten-free cone, or take it up a notch with the Rainbow Split—an extravagant mixture of vanilla, chocolate, and wild berry ice cream topped with caramel sauce, hot fudge, strawberry compote, and sprinkles between a split banana.

Don’t let the name fool you — Milk Gone Nuts offers many dairy-free ice cream pops. Made with milk derived from a variety of nuts (think almonds, cashews, coconuts), these pops range from sweet and fruity to chocolate-dipped. With locations in Aventura and Miami Beach, this is the perfect place to stop in for lunch (you can make your own sandwich or salad), and end the meal with a frozen treat.

Miami's The Frieze declares itself the world's greatest ice cream factory, and dairy-free residents are likely to agree. Not only is it one of Miami Beach’s oldest ice cream shops, but The Frieze also boasts one of the largest selections of vegan sorbet in the city. Papaya, pink grapefruit, peanut butter, and chocolate mint are just a few of their 30+ unique flavors.

Another Wynwood favorite, Dasher & Crank serves some of the quirkiest flavors we’ve ever seen (and tasted). Their small-batch, artisanal offerings rotate often, but at any given time, up to six of the shop’s 18 flavors will be vegan — past dairy-free hits include Chocolate Chipotle and Raspberry Chocolate Rum. Fitt Tip: if you’re not sure which one to go for, don’t be afraid to ask to sample all six!

There’s much more than juice to be had at Nékter Juice Bar in Aventura. The Southern California-based smoothie chain is also known for its house-made, dairy- and soy-free "skoops," which are created with a creamy cashew milk base. Choose between vanilla or chocolate, and customize your dish by adding toppings such as vegan chocolate chips, coconut flakes, strawberries, hemp seed granola, and blueberries.
