We get it. Running is hard. You run on your own self-motivation far less than you’d like to, and when you run with a friend you quit early and talk yourselves into getting margs, chips, and queso. Some accountability would help, and the energy of a run club may be just what you need (really, what we all need).

And we’ve got you there! Check out Nashville’s most energetic run clubs that offer post-run perks like breakfast, coffee, beer, happy hour specials, and more! If that isn’t motivation, we don’t know what is.

RHYTHM RUNNING

Rhythm Running is the new kid—well, kids—in town. Rhythm Running has a storefront right on Demonbreun (where the locals drink). There, they offer the best running tech, shoes, and clothing. They also happen to host weekly runs on Monday and Thursday nights with food and beers across the street afterward.

EAST NASTY

If you’re a runner in Nashville, you’re likely to have joined this East Nashville running community at some point. This high-energy group has been around for a while (over 10 years), so they know the best routes, and they’re highly efficient and experienced. Join the crowd, listen for your pace group, and get moving. Put in some work, then celebrate with tons of new friends; Wednesday night runs are followed by food and beers at 3 Crow Bar. Worried about being slow? Lasty Nasty is a strollers-and-dogs-welcome group.

BRENTWOOD BREAKFAST CLUB

Love food? Us too. And breakfast is the best meal of the day, right? This Brentwood running group agrees and ends their run at a different breakfast place each week. The club meets Thursday mornings for the love of running AND a local Nashville eatery’s breakfast spread. Plus, they also host Track Tuesday runs at Brentwood Academy.

NASHVILLE STRIDERS

Nashville Striders | Facebook

Okay, serious striders, where you at? Nashville Striders hosts 14-milers and nine-mile trail runs for the dedicated and adventurous. And they keep things fresh by changing up their routes, so stay up to date on their website. A true must: Their Bongo to Bongo run begins at the east side Bongo and ends at the popular coffee shop on Belmont Blvd., so you can refuel with the Bongo Basic.

DIRTBAGS TRAIL RUN CLUB

Clear your Thursday nights and join Dirtbags Trail Run. This trail running club (hosted by Fleet Feet) welcomes all levels to enjoy this scenic run through Belle Meade’s Percy Warner Park—from novices to the “grizzled old trail vet.” End your trail run with grub and beer at Sportsman’s Grille.

GREEN HILLS RUN CLUB

On Mondays at 6pm, walkers and runners of the Green Hills Run Club—a social and supportive crew—are welcome to log three to five miles starting and ending at Fleet Feet in Green Hills. The runs are lighthearted, and the free craft beer at the finish is a surefire way to meet some new running buddies.

NASHVILLE RUNNING COMPANY’S BREW CREW

GERMANTOWN RUNNING CLUB

Be active, have fun, and socialize. This is what Germantown Running Club is all about. All levels are welcome to the Tuesday evening runs, no matter if you’ve run five marathons or never run a 5k. The group meets outside of Jack Brown’s in Germantown and returns for beers and burgers afterwards.
