Find the best places to eat, work out, run, and hike in Philadelphia. 💪
Tragedy struck last week, as** [Govinda’s](https://www.govindasphilly.com/), one of the restaurants that first pioneered Philadelphia’s vegan and vegetarian scene 35 years ago, closed its doors for good.** While there were some challenges over the past few years and mostly inconsistent hours, they served some of the best vegetarian comfort food in town and will be sorely missed!

We always love to see some booze-free options on the menu, and these days, it seems easier than ever to enjoy something fizzy or flavorful without worrying about a hangover the next day. And when those beverages are brewed right in our backyard, even better! Enter Movement Labs, a zero-proof brewery whipping up some of the tastiest kombucha and yerba maté cans available! We’ve seen them popping up on local menus, from Cafe Lift in Callowhill to Martha in Kensington, and we definitely recommend you grab a can of their Ginger Lime Kombucha next time you’re out.
You may already know and love the small, intimate vibe that you get walking into Chestnut Hill Cycle Fitness, but trust us — their expansion is going to take this bright, vibrant, community-driven studio to the next level with more space for yoga, bootcamp, barre, and cycling (plus childcare)! They’re hosting a grand opening on Leap Day, February 29, to reveal their brand-new space and packing it with free classes, juices, and refreshments!

We know — we’ve been hinting at the opening of the latest restaurant in the Solomonov empire for months now, but the time is finally here! Laser Wolf, an Israeli shipudiya (skewer house), officially opened February 6!** **Described by some as a sequel to the OG, Zahav, Laser Wolf is a carnivore's dream, featuring skewers of beef, lamb, chicken, and fish (don't worry — there are vegetarian/vegan options!). AND soft-serve is included in the price. Better make that rez fast!
Rebel (activewear boutique/yoga studio/canteen with kombucha on tap) in Chestnut Hill has expanded their reach to Ardmore with the launch of a Rebel pop-up shop in Suburban Square. This means in-store events such as intention setting workshops and complimentary workouts popping up monthly, so follow their social accounts to stay in the know!

Being vegan in Philly has never been easier, and West Philly’s recently opened Vegan-ish is bringing plant-powered comfort food AND healthy alternatives for all the non-meat-eaters in the city! And, if you’re wondering about the “-ish” part, they’ve also got a section of the menu featuring seafood options for pescatarians. Whether you’re craving a spicy “chicken” cutlet sandwich, a “bacon cheeseburger” made with Impossible meat, or a refreshing smoothie, Vegan-ish is ready to serve!
A couple of weeks ago, Royersford’s CoreFit Training Studio celebrated their grand opening, touting a focus on old-fashioned moves employing power, strength, and agility to bring people “back to basics”. The equipment we’re most excited about checking out? The VersaClimber! It has been around since the ‘80s but, so far, has been rarely seen on the East Coast. Meanwhile, CoreFit’s got a studio full of them! Take your workout to new heights with this dynamic piece.

If you’re anything like us, your favorite way to hit the treadmill is in one of the many classes that seem to be popping up all over Philly. From Barry’s to RippedPHL, we love the addition of running intervals into group fitness, and we’re stoked to see Royersford’s TORQUE get in on the action with their Tread & Tone class. It’s a 45-minute combination of cardio and strength and can be catered to any fitness level (so don’t be afraid if you can’t recall the last time you hopped on a treadmill!).
We know how much you love your oat milk latte, but have you ever enjoyed that creamy goodness in frozen form? The long-awaited Kitchen’s Lane Creamery has opened its doors in Headhouse Square, and they’re already dishing out some killer dairy-free ice cream, baked goods, and coffee items! With plenty of vegan options and an adorable neighborhood spot, this might just become your favorite new coffee shop!

New year always means new studios, and we’re so happy to announce that Old City’s Paris Fit Studios officially opened last weekend. This studio on Vine St. is offering over 50 opportunities to sweat weekly, with classes ranging from barre and yoga to HIIT classes like "Guns and Buns" and "Sweat Baby Sweat". And with a drop-in rate of $15, these classes are more affordable than some of our Sweetgreen orders. We love it!
After a successful preview in December, Dig** (aka Dig Inn) finally opened in Rittenhouse**, and we already can’t get enough of their quick, healthy bowls packed with a variety of veggies and plenty of protein. Trust us when we say: do NOT skip out on the Brussels with honey-chili oil. If anyone tells you differently, they’re just wrong.
