CPY came to Philly at the end of 2015 but quickly made their mark for three things: their central location in the heart of Rittenhouse, their expansive schedule (up to 16 classes offered daily), and their steep cost (up to $27/class). However, fans know that you get what you pay for. That includes immaculately maintained locker rooms and spacious studios paired with the most energetic instructors in town. Their classes range in both temperature (over 100 degrees in their Hot Power Fusion classes!) and pace, but they offer a week free to any newcomers.

YOGA HIVE has East Passyunk buzzing with excitement. This intimate studio right on the Avenue has been embraced by the local community largely for their special workshops and themes. They’ve hosted goat yoga, bro-ga (yoga for the bros), glowga (glow in the dark yoga!), and even equestrian yoga. But beyond the animals and accessories, their dedication to welcoming and accessible classes for every level keeps yogis coming back for more!

This Baptiste yoga studio lets you power up at locations in Fishtown as well as Northfield, New Jersey. When you arrive, you’ll find a challenging and empowering practice that’ll leave you sweaty and stoked for the next class. Grace & Glory emphasizes their community vibe above all else. Meaning, you’ll grow in spirit and strength as the instructors make a point of getting you out of your comfort zone on the mat. Keep your eye on their Facebook page, too, where they post about free/community classes!

You won’t have to bend over backward to get groovin’ at Yoga Habit — they’re known for their Power Flow classes and ultra-sweaty studio. Really, if you like it hot, you’re going to be in good company at this Fairmount favorite. New to the spot? Try their 21 days for $21 Pass to give the classes a go for three weeks. For members, they offer complimentary mat rentals and towel usage, making it easier than ever to start (and stick with) good yoga habits. Fitt Tip: stick around for savasana and you’ll be rewarded with cold, soaked lavender towels aka the ultimate cool down.

If you’re looking to roll out your mat for a steamy workout, this place has you covered — in sweat, that is! Their 90-degree heated Power Yoga class is a surefire way to get your heart pumping and your body bending. If you want to challenge yourself in a new way, this spot offers a seemingly never-ending supply of classes, including Pilates, Barre, and Mindful Flow at their studio on Walnut Street.

Yogis of all levels come to Maha Yoga’s Center City hub for their welcoming and restorative space. You’ll find supportive instructors who can help take your practice to new heights. From the gentle yoga and yogahour (a fun and sweaty 60-minute class) to acroyoga and the handstand how-to class, you’ll be in good hands at Maha. An added bonus? Maha is the premier studio for chronic pain sufferers and even offers a restorative class for those with Parkinson’s.

Community-based, people-oriented classes at Three Queens Yoga will help you get fit, find peace, and realize your yoga potential. Their schedules offer a little bit of everything from your traditional class to creative classes like The Core, a Pilates-yoga hybrid. For the newbs, try The Basics. In a time-crunch? Try the quick and fun 45 class. Feeling super strong or stretchy? Look no further than Dynamic and Slow Flows. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for their epic workshops, where you can get fierce as you flow!

Find true health, establish a deeper connection, and discover the power within. This power yoga studio in Philly and Westmont, NJ is on a mission to help you do those three things, and so much more. Anjali roots their practice in the Baptiste methodology, meaning you’ll strengthen your body as well as your mind. And during the summer months, you can take your practice to the water; try your hand at SUP Yoga (that's stand-up paddleboard, if you don't know). It adds a whole new meaning to finding balance through your practice.

Priding themselves on bucking the mainstream vibes of some yoga studios, this Brewerytown spot is all about exploring your potential. Their name stems from their goal of creating a Yoga Movement Sanctuary. That means everything from gentler flows to rigorous conditioning classes. The YMS team really welcomes each student to practice what feels right, and this concept comes to life during their “open studio” hours when members ask students to try something new they’ve learned, collaborate with others, or refine their craft with instructors and fellow students.

There’s no doubt about it — this community (well, _communities _in Manayunk and University City) — knows how to sweat, smile, and strengthen its students. The fact they teach Baptiste Power Vinyasa means classes will be energizing and empowering at the same time. Plus, they crank the heat to that oh-so-hot 90 degrees, guaranteeing you’ll leave drenched in sweat, and yet, walk away feeling refreshed and energized. We’ll just chalk that up to the magic of the Hotbox team and community.

You could call this place the perfect balance of yoga and wellness. Amrita Yoga & Wellness is helping the Fishtown and Graduate Hospital communities find their flow one chaturanga at a time. Here, sweat through a yoga session, hit the mat or reformer for a Pilates class, or you can try your hand at Tai Chi. No matter which you choose, you’ll be feeling right when you’re done.

Three words say it all: Yoga. For. Everybody. Philly Yoga Factory is the only entirely donation-based studio in the city, meaning you can pay-what-you-wish for every single class. They share a space with a Bikram studio, so be prepared for some serious heat. Also, come ready for something new — this is a spot where teachers and students alike can explore new styles, from strength training classes geared at runners and athletes to cross-over and sensory Aroma Yinyasa classes! Fitt Tip: keep your eyes peeled for the occasional mindful meditation and hoop dancing class — you never know what’ll pop up!

In a neighborhood known for its museums, Priya’s a real work of art. If you’re new to hot yoga, it’s an ideal spot to start, as their instructors guide students through the process and the room isn’t quite as hot as other studios. Plus, they host a number of themed classes in their bright and clean classrooms. All in, it’s a safe and welcoming space for those, because not all of us want to take yoga too seriously. Take advantage of their intro package — $40 for a month of unlimited hot yoga is a total steal.

Joining the Old City scene in late-2018, Mind Over Matter is a yoga and barre studio known for its signature melding of the two. Helmed by two veterans of the former Torc Yoga studio, the namesake Mind Over Matter class incorporates the micro-movements of barre and the strengthening holds of a yoga practice into one hour-long session. You'll feel the burn, and the playlists are always fire. Add in its other power yoga, Vinyasa, barre, and mat Pilates classes for one complete studio experience.

With locations in Rittenhouse, South Philly, and Fairmount, it’s no wonder this place has become home for so many yogis on the move. Delightfully unpretentious, each studio offers classic Vinyasa- and Yin-style classes in bright and clean spaces. Sick of swampy hot yoga classes? Don’t worry — these studios are air-conditioned and well-ventilated, so you’ll be breathing easy.

Right in the heart of Center City is an unexpectedly large, always-bright studio called Sanctuary Yoga & Mindfulness. This oasis of peace and calm on Locust St. features enormous windows that let the light in (without bringing in the city’s boisterous sounds). Considering the location, you’ll be pleased with the reasonable pricing, and they also offer a number of exploratory workshops and meditation classes in case you need to ramp things up or slow things down.
