Running and beer might not seem like a natural combination, but according to the Fishtown Beer Runners, they do it for science. Test the theory and join the run club every Thursday at 7pm to run to a local pub, raise a glass, and toast to ‘The Professor’ yourself.

The club meets Thursdays at 6pm at their Center City store and heads out for a 3-5-mile run. They also often have events at the shop after runs, so you can outfit your next workout. Bonus: jump on a run out of their Manayunk and University City locations too.

Wednesday nights at 6:45, the crew runs a comfortable jaunt from the shop. More of an early bird? You can join the group on Thursday mornings at 6am from Lloyd Hall. If that wasn’t enough, hit the trails on Saturday mornings – you can catch a ride to the Wissahickon to get in 5-7 miles in the woods.

Practice your boat pose next to the Schuylkill River. Enjoy pay-what-you-can yoga all summer long – weekends at 11am and Tuesdays at 6pm. Also new this summer, Yoga at the Market is held Wednesdays at 6pm at the Schuylkill River Park’s market. So after you practice your handstand, you can head over to the food stand. Nothing like healthy multitasking.

Every Saturday morning through September, join CorePower Yoga for free Vinyasa on the roof of the ICON building. They ask that you meet at the front desk of the studio at 745am to walk up together for an 8am start time, so be there bright and early. Talk about Vinyasa with a view.

Every Sunday, Brewerytown Bikes hosts a different mountain bike ride. The rides are lead by a seasoned rider with a full repair kit, should anyone need any assistance on the trails. Don’t have a bike? On the second Sundays of every month, rentals are FREE so you can shred with the best of them.

CKO Kickboxing at The Oval

CKO Kickboxing is back again for its second year at the Oval’s Wellness Wednesdays. Every Wednesday until August 17th, you can go get your sweat on with heavy bags and a boot camp-style workout. Classes are from 7-8pm, all fitness levels are welcome, and CKO Center City even provides the boxing gloves.

November Project

If you need some accountability for a Wednesday or Friday morning workout, this is your group.  Meet Wednesday at 6:25am at the Art Museum for an hour-long session that can include anything from running the steps, to hoistees, to partner planks. Fridays are all about hills; NP meets at Lemon Hill at 6:25am for a workout that’s part hugs, part sweat, and part running. All you have to do is #JustShowUp.
