If the idea of working out by yourself bums you out. If you can’t bring yourself to spend hundreds of dollars on a gym membership. Then you need to know about the November Project.
Birthed in Boston, this FREE fitness movement has grown to include local chapters all over the country, including Philly. Tribe leaders since 2013, Suzanne and Dan are “turning the City of Brotherly Love into the City of Brotherly Hugs.” Wake up before the sun and break a sweat on Wednesdays and Fridays. Not a morning person? Word on the street is that coming up soon (early Spring) there will definitely be a nighttime or non early morning event that will be fitness filled AND social aimed with details to come.
But as Philly tribe member, Drew Degen, reminds us, “No one is a morning person, but when you get up and go… you have the whole day ahead of you to rock and roll.” Not only can you feel super accomplished and wide awake for the day’s journey, but as a member of November Project, as Drew says, “there is always someone there to be accountable to.”
Where and when?
The Philly tribe meets at 6:25am every Wednesday and Friday. Start your week off right by breaking a sweat at the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. The location for Friday’s workout varies, so check Facebook or Twitter for details. But rest assured that you’ll be working your butt off no matter the location.
Just show up
What are you waiting for? No sign ups, no fees – all you have to do is head to the next November Project sweat session for one heck of a workout. But whatever you do, don’t bail on your tribe. Otherwise, you can expect some publish shaming on the We Missed You wall.
