The Free Fitness Movement
November Project was originally started in Boston when two friends challenged each other to tough the bitter cold months and work out together. Eventually, the lure of free fitness created a movement. Now, there are November Project groups rooted in nearly 30 different cities across the US—and a few in Asia and Europe!
But November Project is far from your typical workout group! You will start off with a bounce to get that energy high and the blood pumping. You will receive a dozen hugs from strangers and even more high-fives. You will sweat. You will laugh. And you will make good friends along the way.
Yes, November Project meets all year long (not just in November), every week, rain or shine, hot or cold. Every Monday at 6am (check social media for location) and every Wednesday (also 6am) at Papago Park Amphitheater, get up and sweat with the best.
And did we mention it’s FREE? No membership fees, no sign-ups. You literally ‘Just Show Up’! Although, don’t drop a #verbal saying you’re coming and hit the snooze button too many times— then you can expect some public shaming. There’s that accountability in action!
The Phoenix Tribe
The November Project Phoenix group, or “tribe”, is full of fierce, friendly Phoenicians of all fitness levels—all working together to push each other to become faster, stronger, and more active. Whether you’re working towards your first 5k or an elite CrossFit machine, you’re part of the tribe.
Every city is different, but most NP workouts involve stairs. In Phoenix, they skip the typical stadium bleachers and hit the stone steps of the Papago Park Amphitheater (park at West Buttes parking lot by 5:45!). The 30-minute stair stomp + plyometrics at this signature landmark offers Instagram-worthy views of the Arizona sunrise and surrounding rock formations.
Best of all the friends, high-fives, and community vibes don’t stop after the workout. November Project Phoenix brings opportunities for you to try out new gyms, go for a run with a new group, or even visit a restaurant you’ve never been to!
