If you’ve ever tasted a small-batch ice cream cookie sandwich from Leona’s, then you know there’s a reason you can find these delightful creations in cafes, breweries, and shops all across the city.
The Pittsburgh-proud company has a reputation for crafting unique flavor combinations you can’t find anywhere else. And thanks to a recently announced collaboration with Lawrenceville newcomer Hippie & French, they’re whipping up a very chill, limited-availability offering.
On February 27, 2019, the first creation was unveiled at the Hippie & French storefront at 5122 Butler St. If you missed it, lucky patrons grabbed a CBD lemon cream and ginger molasses ice cream sandwich made with the same quality, locally-sourced ingredients Leona’s is known for, plus 20mg of full-spectrum cannabinoid oil.
Since then, they've launched a few more iterations that were very well-received. A word of advice for their pop-ups: the shop opens at 11am, and you’ll want to make sure you’re one of the first through the door — usually less than 100 sandwiches are up for grabs.
But this delicious partnership is just the start. Watch out for even more pop-ups, products, and exciting flavors in the future.
