There’s no shortage of veggie-friendly eateries around the Burgh. We’ve got juiceries, taco shops, cafes, and bakeries whipping up some delicious, animal-free eats in all corners of the city. And now, Swissvale is hopping aboard the plant-based train with the debut of a one-of-a-kind vegan coffee shop.

WORLDS COLLIDE

Satellite Cafe is the name and caffeination is the game. This fully plant-based cafe is tucked away in Switch & Signal Skatepark, a former bowling alley turned punk rock paradise.

A sister shop of Lawrenceville staple Constellation Coffee, Satellite opened its doors in July 2018 and has been fueling hungry skateboarders with its top-notch coffee ever since. The shop offers a simple drink menu that includes espresso shots, cappuccinos, and lattes. And true to its 100% plant-based mission, the coffee bar is stocked with a variety of dairy alternatives like almond, oat, and soy milk.

When it comes to the grub, Satellite offers a variety of goods from local vegan favorites. Gluuteny provides the gluten- and dairy-free baked goods and the cashew cream cheese bagels, muffins, and paninis come courtesy of Onion Maiden.
