We as human beings we are all rather unique — we look different, feel different, and move different. But instead of feeling insecure, you need to learn to celebrate the differences.
Well, what if we told you there’s a way to use everything that makes you you AND create art during a one-of-a-kind yoga class?
Alecia Dawn Young, owner and creator of YOGAMOTIF, has heard every reason why people are nervous to try yoga and responded by launching a playful creative space that celebrates all body types while gaining a deeper appreciation for yoga.
It’s a Yoga Paint Party! And that means you’ll use your body as a paintbrush to make art that only you can make during this one-hour yoga flow. The best part? It’s mess-free—it’s all done on a patent-pending specialty yoga mat—and all the supplies from the paint to the yoga mat are included as well as a souvenir created by you. (Warning: it might be a little too big to hang on the fridge though.)
Want to step it up a notch? Keep a look out for the Yoga Paint Party: Artist Kickback series which is co-taught by local artists to help enhance each painting.
Almost every class in this East Liberty studio includes make-and-take wellness, from paintings to herbal tea, or maybe even a meditative doodle or two. Not in the mood for something artsy? They also have classes that focus on the Hatha style of yoga.
Now, you may be thinking this sounds familiar. If that’s the case, you probably recognize YOGAMOTIF from their partnership classes with the Kelly Strayhorn Theater at their Alloy Studios. But our friends are finally sinking in some permanent roots, and the doors open this March.
It’s time to let your hair down and show the world (and yourself) how beautiful you are on canvas.
