This PGH 5k is a Fourth of July Tradition

Baby, you’re a firework! Just kidding, but you certainly will have the energy of a firecracker as you run for a good cause on Independence Day.

The Brentwood Firecracker 5k is a fun, family-friendly event on the Fourth of July that benefits disabled American veterans. Suit up in red, white, and blue and run/walk the route of the Brentwood Fourth of July parade at either a competitive or leisurely pace.

Brentwood 5k Pittsburgh

The Firecracker 5k has been around for over 30 years now, benefiting a number of organizations and charities over that time. Since 2007, the Disabled Veterans has been the designated charity of the event, which certainly seems appropriate for a race that takes place on the July holiday!

Get the kids involved in the happenings by registering them for the Junior Racer event (11 years or younger) at a discounted rate, and after the race enjoy refreshments, beer, popsicles, awards, prizes, and music in Brentwood Towne Square. What a way to kick off the Fourth of July festivities!
