Once a year Pittsburgh plays host to one of the craziest bike races around. This annual ride, known as the Dirty Dozen, is guaranteed to put your cycling skills to the test.
Now you might be thinking, “Hey, I can ride a bike. What’s the big deal?”
Well friend, there’s a difference between balancing on two wheels and taking on the Dirty Dozen. How could that be, you ask? This race isn’t a straight line sprint or a daylong ride for distance. Not even close!
The Dirty Dozen challenges riders to tackle thirteen of the steepest hills in the Pittsburgh including Canton Avenue. With a 37% grade, it’s one of the steepest roads in the world.
