Nowadays, there are so many races or walks out there supporting a good cause and benefiting some sort of charity. We love to see it. There’s really nothing better than having fun while exercising and helping a worthy foundation. And there’s an annual in Pittsburgh that you really shouldn’t miss
One of the largest and most notable charitable races in not only the nation but also the world is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. This 5k run/walk is the most successful educational and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created.
100% of the proceeds from the race go toward the charity’s mission, with 75% aiding local programs and 25% supporting the Susan G. Komen Grants Program.
Pittsburgh’s Race for the Cure features a scenic route through Schenley Park by Pitt. To make the race even more fun-filled, you can also recruit your friends/family to fundraise and run as a team. Band together so we can all kick cancer’s butt and honor the brave women in our lives that have been affected by this disease.
