As the summer comes to an end, are you running in circles trying to decide how to spend your last remaining warm weekends? Don’t run in circles, run around the Square.
We’re talking about Pittsburgh’s charming Regent Square, for the annual Run Around the Square race. Participants begin this lively run by winding down the streets of the square, then through the alluring trails of Frick Park in late August.
Register for the 5k event, or join your friends and family (including your favorite tail-wagging canine) for the 1.5k run/walk. But be sure to sign up early, as the race is capped at 1,800 participants each year!
After the race, there is an award ceremony in Fern Hollow, where prizes will be given out. And as an added bonus, proceeds from the event benefit local Regent Square charities, such as the Wilkins School Community Center and the Environmental Charter School.
We’ll keep you up to date on all things health, fitness and local food in Pittsburgh.
