While a day without a smartphone might sound like a nightmare to some, we're always looking for a way to disconnect.
Enter: LOGE Camps, an outdoor adventure and lodging destination that has taken the road-tripping, community vibes of ’70s camping and brought it to today.
Founded in 2017, LOGE renovates old motels that have long been forgotten and provides a fresh vacation experience for those looking to connect while they disconnect. And since their start, they have grown to offer five unique experiences (four of which are only a half-days’ drive or less from PDX!) that cater to snow bunnies, mountaineers, and surfers alike.
You can find them in Bend, OR, Westport, WA, Leavenworth, WA, Mt. Shasta, CA, and Breckenridge, CO. And what you can expect once you arrive is a variety of places to lay your head, including fully-equipped cabins, hotel rooms, and hostel-style accommodations, depending on which location you’ve booked. If you’re heading to Westport, they even have RV camping!
Now, we’re not going to say Bend is the best LOGE location, but it's probably the best LOGE location seeing as it’s the only one in Oregon (fine, we’re biased).
Even better, Bend is one of only https://www.instagram.com/p/B379Gmlg9VE/r e with an on-site cafe and taproom, so don’t worry about packing a cooler of beer and snacks — they’ve got you covered. At the cafe, you’ll find coffees, teas, and morning novelty munchies, all made with locally-sourced ingredients, while the taproom has, well... beer on tap!
And when you’re in the mood for an outdoor excursion (or a beer tour) you can check out the local craft brew scene in Bend — it’s only a 15-minute bike ride away. And get this: cruiser bikes are FREE to use!
But the bikes, bites, and brews are just the start. From rock climbing, mountain biking, and river shenanigans in the summer to skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing in the winter, Bend LOGE has something for everyone and every season.
Looking for a chill day in? You’ve got a hammock in your bunk and access to outdoor communal kitchens featuring Traeger grills. Ready for an adrenaline rush? Rent some gear from their outfitter or head just 20 minutes down the road to Mt. Bachelor. No matter your day plans, expect outdoor movies (indoors starting in October or November) and live music on the weekends for a perfect nightcap.
Whether your an avid outdoorsman ready for a new adventure or just need a break from city life, LOGE will make you feel connected to nature, the local community, and your neighbor, even for just a night or two. We’ll see you there!
