If you’ve never stopped by Communal Coffee (aka “Coffee + Flowers”) in North Park, you’ve surely seen them on Instagram. It’s hard to miss their perfectly poured lattes served in a background that’s best described as floral fantasyland meets every millenial’s dream apartment decor.
And now, they’re kicking things up a notch with a trendy new location that you’re going to want to move right to the top of your must-go list.
Coffee + Flowers
Communal Coffee’s new digs is bound to become the hippest place to curb your caffeine craving in South Park, because they didn’t just open up your run-of-the-mill corner coffee shop. The Communal team retrofitted a 1959 travel trailer with a serious espresso machine and parked it in an outdoor lot on Fern Street, creating a garden-like oasis that’s the perfect place to sit and sip under the San Diego sun.
But just because they’ve opened a second spot doesn’t mean they’re ditching the classics. Expect all the fan favorites like the Lavender Honey Latte (made with espresso from Sightglass Coffee in SF and flowers from Native Poppy) as well as some new offerings (hello, Nomad Donuts).
Your new home base
Keeping the “commune” in Communal, the space will also hold events, music, and movie nights throughout the year and plans to partner with neighborhood wine bar, The Rose, to offer beer and wine on weekend nights.
Head to South Park now for delicious, brag-worthy sips and a super fun time. But be warned, you may never leave.
