You might not know it yet, but your new favorite all-day cafe has not one, but two locations in Downtown San Francisco.
If you haven’t experienced an Australian coffee shop, Bluestone Lane is about to let you in on what you’ve been missing out on: they roast their own beans and whip up a mean flat white, matcha latte, or just a perfect cup of drip coffee. And as any good, health-conscious Australian cafe does — they offer almond milk substitutions. Coffee, meet perfection.
After leaving their caffeinated footprint all over Australia and quietly taking over Manhattan and Brooklyn, Bluestone Lane opened their doors on the Best Coast with a location in the Financial District and a second in Union Square.
The menu isn’t quite as extensive as their counterparts in NYC or Australia, but they’ve still got items that are hard to find elsewhere in the city, like their famous Beet Latte, Iced Milo, and—if you’re feeling really adventurous—toast with vegemite. Fitt Tip: order the salmon toast and add a poached egg — it’s kind of life-changing.
Not feeling quite in the adventurous eats mood? That’s okay, too! Bluestone Lane also offers all your fave avo toasts, banana toast, and seasonal oatmeal, not to mention seasonal soups, bowls, and bacon and egg rolls.
One of the other reasons we love Bluestone Lane is because it’s actually one of the very few coffee places—let alone coffee places with a food menu—open on the weekends in the Financial District. Before Bluestone Lane, you’d have to Uber or Lyft from your weekend workout at SoulCycle SoMa, Flywheel, or Barry’s Bootcamp to brunch with your friends in Hayes Valley or the Mission, but no longer will you have to schlep across town to refuel or socialize.
Next time you need a coffee break, pop in to one of Bluestone Lane’s SF locations at 227 Front St. and 685 Market St., both open 7am–6pm on the weekdays and 8am–4pm on the weekends. We’ll see you there!
