Let’s be honest — schlepping your gym bag to the same gym week after week gets old, fast. And in a city like San Francisco, we’ll find any excuse to take our workouts outside. Luckily, there’s Dryft, an indoor/outdoor mobile gym and the first of its kind in the US.

WORKOUT ON WHEELS

An indisputably unique concept, Dryft is out to change everything you thought you knew about your average fitness studio.

True to its name, the gym drifts throughout the Bay Area, offering location-based classes out of a semi-trailer truck with retractable sides and platforms that fold out. It’s all actually surprisingly simple: Dryft picks a location, parks the mobile gym, and sets up 36 workout stations. All you have to do is reserve your spot, and show up ready to sweat in a studio that features the best parts of outdoor and indoor workouts.

LET’S DRYFT

They’re not stopping with the innovative space, either. The San Francisco-based gym offers a fresh take on group fitness with a 50-minute, interval-based workout that’s equal parts rowing and bootcamp-style strength training. Even better, there are always two instructors in every class to encourage and push you to finish strong.

For now, Dryft is only open on the weekends, but you can always find them at the same two spots — Marina Green on Saturdays and the Ocean Beach Parking Lot on Sundays. If the picture-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean don’t take your breath away, the high-intensity, total-body workout definitely will.

Can’t wait? Book a class to see for yourself what the hype’s about. Oh, and follow their journey on Instagram so you’ll be the first to know when they expand to more locations in San Francisco.
