We’ve heard “rumblings” of boutique boxing favorite Rumble opening in the Marina for close to a year now. And if you’ve walked by the former Urban Outfitters space at 3060 Fillmore lately, you’ll know the rumors are true — Rumble has found a home for their run-centric spinoff, Rumble Training, in SF’s most active neighborhood.
Treadmill runners typically fall into two camps — those who look forward to their indoor runs and those who think of it more as a “dreadmill”.
No matter what camp you’re in, you’ll never be bored at Rumble Training. You can expect the same elevated designs you know and love at Rumble Boxing, Rumble’s custom-mixes of your favorite songs, and, of course, a killer workout. The difference comes from how you get your sweat, and in this case, Rumble is looking to replicate the success driven by Equinox’s Precision Running, Barry’s Bootcamp, and Orangetheory Fitness. Treadmill studios are on the rise all over the country, and SF appears to a beta test for Rumble’s big ambitions.
Rumble Training will be led by many of the Rumble instructors you already know and love. Shedding the mitts, these trainers will be put through a training program and will also come from a run coaching background, ensuring that your workout will not only get you sweating — it will get you stronger while keeping you injury-free, too. As we learned from co-founder Noah Neiman, you can expect many of the same strength and floor-based exercises Rumble has been known to couple with their work on the Aqua Training Bags, but the focal point of the workout, the running, will be their secret sauce.
The treadmills you’ll find in class will be specially made for Rumble Training by fitness partner Technogym, with a custom interface and joysticks to adjust speed and incline. Soon, you’ll also soon be able to find Rumble Training on Rumble’s new at-home workout product, At Home 360, also in partnership with Technogym’s SKILLRUN treadmill.
This will be one of the first Rumble Training locations to open anywhere—it’ll be opening on the heels of the ribbon-cutting of a Flatiron District studio in NYC—so be sure to watch for updates on their grand opening date.
