Bondi has a new health-focussed, completely vegan restaurant on offer, and it’s ticking all the boxes.
With a menu featuring cocktails, power lattes, pizzas, vegan bowls, burgers, wine, and all things in between, newcomer Eden’s café and courtyard garden truly caters to everyone.
The emphasis on environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and vegan alternatives continues to grow in Sydney and beyond. As of August 2019, Eden Bondi has jumped onboard with a flourish, offering a commitment to these causes without the need to compromise on taste or enjoyment.
Eden isn’t just your ordinary healthy restaurant, though. With a focus on aesthetics—evident in both the food and the restaurant itself—you’ll be immersed in the welcoming, fresh, beachy vibes from the moment you set foot in the door. Think an airy, light-illuminated stone courtyard garden featuring modern white chairs, with plants adorning every corner. Not to mention the rose gold cutlery, finishings, and bar…
The 80-seat restaurant feels intimate yet spacious, and with plenty of natural light and muted pastel décor, your vibrant, veg-forward feast stands out in more ways than one.
Head chef Claudia Panto, of Ovolo Wolloomooloo’s vegan restaurant Alibi, has really hit the nail on the head here.
The menu is designed for sharing — and you’ll want to do so, purely so you can sink your teeth into as many of Eden’s dishes as possible! It emphasises food and cocktails, which are proudly healthy and free from all animal products. Plus, they make an effort to accommodate those with nuts, gluten, onion, and garlic allergies.
You’ll find veggie-packed vegan sliders (coloured an impossibly green hue), popcorn cauliflower bites, mushroom spag bol, nachos, falafel bowls, and teriyaki bento bowls — seamlessly fusing all things from Mexican to Asian.
And why not take it further with a glass of organic wine, a smoothie, or pressed juice? Or, even better, a vegan cocktail, like the Cookies & Cream concoction: a perfect blend of Chivas whisky, freshly pressed espresso, chocolate bitters, and coconut cream, then topped off with a vegan choc chip cookie crumble. Did someone say perfection?
As you’ll discover when you arrive, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the two-page menu. If in doubt, go for the fysh tacos! The spicy, creamy deliciousness, topped with a crunchy, crispy banana blossom ‘fysh’ will have you questioning why you ever bothered with animal proteins! The falafel bowl with a smothering of hummus is a classic choice, but if you and your mates are looking to share, the popcorn cauli and the hugely popular Green Goddess pizza are standouts.
Open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday in the heart of Bondi Beach on Campbell Parade, Eden could hardly have chosen a more health-conscious, vegan-loving spot to target. And judging by its early popularity, the strategic move is paying off in spades.
