The wait is over, Toronto. One of the most popular vegan restaurants to hit the mainstream is opening up not one, but two(!) locations in the city.
After taking NYC and a handful of other major US cities by storm before going international with London, by CHLOE. is now making its Canadian debut at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. As soon as late-September, you could be living all your plant-based dreams at this fast-casual eatery.
“Toronto’s vibrant and diverse community, paired with its innovative food scene, makes for the perfect destination for our first location in Canada”, by CHLOE. founder and creative director Samantha Wasser said in a press release.
And that’s exactly what’s in store for the new locations — the second coming to the Financial District in 2020. Get ready for a menu full of signature by CHLOE. vegan eats, with lots of gluten-free and soy-free options. Take a bite out of their much-loved Guac Burger—a black bean, quinoa, and sweet potato patty with corn salsa, chipotle aioli, and, of course, guac—and wash it down with the Cuckoo’s Nest, a cold-pressed juice featuring beet, apple, romaine, lemon, and ginger.
Other must-tries include the cashew mozzarella and almond parm topped mushroom and veggie Pesto Meatball (topped with cashew mozzarella and almond parm), as well as a long list of loaded salads, pastas, and snacks.
But it’s the exclusive “Toronto by CHLOE.” menu that we really can’t wait for. The details are still under wraps, but we can tell you it’ll take inspiration from some of Canada’s fave dishes. Do we smell a plant-based poutine in our future?
The shopping centre at Yorkdale recently opened a few other sit-down, health-focused cafés outside of its packed food court, and by CHLOE. will now fight for their share of the plate.
The inaugural Canadian eatery will bring the restaurant's NYC vibes, right down to the black and white stripes. You’ll order at graphic counters, eat off tiled tables, and dangle your feet from swings hung from the ceiling.
If you’re looking to get in and out of the mall fast but can’t leave without a little by CHLOE experience, the new digs will offer seasonal grab-and-go options, as well as a selection of coveted pastries from Sweets by CHLOE. and house-made, dairy-free ice cream from Chill by CHLOE.
Once the ribbon is cut this September, Yorkdale will mark the brand’s 16th location serving up 100% from-scratch, plant-based food that fuels. And we can’t wait to see how it changes Toronto’s idea of fast food.
