Jaclyn Genovese’s fitness journey started to sprout after she closed down her Queen St West clothing store, Jacflash, which she ran for seven years. From there, she went on to pursue her interior design talents by creating the firm Spaces by Jacflash, which is now her primary job. But like so many of us, she struggled to fuel her wellness and energy levels, despite having a thriving career.
After spending nearly two years working with a naturopath to improve her gut health and well-being, she felt internally ready to step back into the gym for some power moves. She worked with a personal trainer for months and was extremely pleased with the results she saw in her body. As an influencer, to say the least, her DMs were constantly flooded with people of all ages wanting to know the secret to her workout regime. Numerous women even wanted to come work out with her, and thus, the inspiration for Fitness by Jacflash bloomed.
While Fitness by Jacflash is, in her own words, “a side hustle”, it’s incredibly popular. And it helps to have a woman like Jaclyn pulling strings and calling her contacts. From reiki healers to acupuncturists, Jaclyn invites a speaker to every fitness class she hosts—from power yoga to HIIT bootcamp—to discuss a variety of wellness topics.
She believes that in order to live a balanced lifestyle, your body, mind, and heart need to be equally healthy. Practicing what she preaches, motivating a community of women that can laugh, sweat, meditate, and learn together, is what makes her events a hot buy.
If you’re lucky enough to secure a spot at a Fitness by Jacflash workshop, you’ll get a 30-minute discussion with a wellness expert before indulging in a one-hour yoga session or high-energy workout. It’s enriching the experience that makes these workouts what they are. You feel powerful, strong, and accepted, all while being surrounded with like-minded women. Previous classes had the opportunity to take home a self-portrait painted by a Toronto artist, while others enjoyed healing from an on-site masseuse or booths set up for local business women to sell their products. What could possibly be better than a one-hour yoga session on BMO Field? Fitness by Jacflash will be hosting her biggest—and first co-ed—workshop on July 6 in partnership with the Toronto Argonauts.
